Gateway FX6800 (TBGM01)
Now and after many flash, the first bios R01.A0 run perfectly.
No cmos checkshum error.
P01.A0 and R01.A1 run perfectly on my tbgm01 packarbell motherboard.

P01.A0 is the best bios modded, all option present.
Set fsb is ok for 3.8 ghz or more.

FOR AMI FLASH, option:
=> Do no check ROM ID
=> destroy CMOS Checksum

In bios:
I have up the QPI in 6.4 (hidden in down settings)
Disable hypertraiding intel tecnologie.

Lokking for a new rad.
Thank you very much, see you later.
Really plaisant forum love it.

I have 9 go ram too...maybe no stable...Test with 8go later.

You are setting the FSB at 3.8 Ghz ? I thought you were Overclocking the processor ( CPU ). If the Processor is 3 Ghz, then the FSB should be at least that much in my opinion. Less cahnce of bottelnecking the Processor I would think. If you don't find the QPI in the BiOS, then the BiOS is probably locked.

My TBGM01 is still running strong as my gaming HTPC and still running an old i7 920 C0. I've long given up hope of finding a way to unlock the BIOS so I've been able to use SetFSB to do 21 x 155 (it becomes unstable in Prime95 at 159). It's in a Silverstone GD05 case and there aren't any mATX X58 boards that could be had for cheap so I stuck with it.

It's a decent board. I even tried out a Xeon X5550 on it and it worked fine. I'm contemplating getting a hexacore X5670.

I was never all that concerned with the Processor Speed as I moved to the 960 and that was fine. I wanted to get the RAM speed up from 1066Mhz to 1600mhz. There was a tutorial here along with everything you needed to make up a flash drive to unlock the BiOS, but I could never get it to work. I have an EVGA mATX Socket 1366 MOBO, just never changed it out, as I ended up building one anyway.

I recall I tried the BIOS flash years ago without any success either.

If you still have the EVGA board around, it's kinda a waste since it's still a very viable platform nowadays.

I still have the EVGA board. The Gateway does pretty well. Upgraded to the i7 960 and am running a GTX 560Ti in it. Am considering an upgrade form the GTX 680 to the GTX 970 or 980 in this thing. If I do, I will move the GTX 680 over to the Gateway. I don't think the Processor will bottleneck it too bad, although there most likely be some.

I recently got a Xeon X5675 for my wife's X58A-UD5 mobo but decided to toss it onto the TBGM01. Unfortunately, I was greeted by a long continuous beep.

Anyone here modded the BIOS to take the 5600 series Xeon chips? I know the 5500 series works as I have used an X5550 on it just fine.

I spent the last few days picking out microcodes from an MSI X58M and an Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer BIOS to see if I can get the X5675 running on this TBGM01.  I'm pretty sure I got the correct microcodes inserted (numbers 6 to 8).

I've tried a couple of flashes with varying "06Cx" IDs but none would boot the X5675 so I've come to the conclusion that like the eVGA X58 Classified (3way) rev 1.0, the TBGM01 needs a physical mod to enable a 2nd QPI link which is beyond my capabilities. I just assume the extra QPI link is different than the ones in the 3500/5500 series.

I guess the next step for the TBGM01 would be that I give it a go with a W3600 series CPU since those are the only Westmere-EP chips that have only 1 QPI link.  Unfortunately, the cheapest one is the 3.2GHz hexacore W3670 that runs at over $145. Annoying since slower 2 QPI link hexacores like the 2.66GHz X5650 can be had for just over $70 and won't work on the TBGM01.

I see theres still work done for this board. Just got curious so I checked the thread.

So now 2 questions bumped up in my head: I aways used the fx6800 TBGM-01 R01.B0 Bios, but recently I read that the fx6803 also have the TBGM-01. Can someone confirm this? Because on gateways website the Bios version is P01.A0 and the vendor is Acer. But jbla0712 mentioned it in this thread, so...

My second concern is where to get this Bios, I mean the modded version, that @jbla0712 mentioned/used, or how to gain the extra settings in my R01.B0.

I am currently on stock R01.B0, no mods, nothing.

I took the official one and modded it myself that has a few added micro codes.  I'll attach a copy here.  I find that doing it in DOS doesn't work for me, only with the Windows flash.

I also downloaded the P01.A0 but have not opened it up to look around.  Will have to do that some time soon.
