[REQUEST] Lenovo Z70-80 (ABCNxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#1
Hi, everyone

Z70-80 is my first (and obviously last) Lenovo laptop. Got myself an Intel 7260 NGFF from ebay and after a month of waiting all i got is a "Hi, nice to meet you" from Mr. Whitelist. I had no previous experience of tampering with BIOS so i'm asking for your help. I've noticed a similar thread so i did everything according to a message there and here are the links:

Results.rar and rom: https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/sYuM...8CSZBzyS8w

Latest BIOS: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds102563

Looking forward to hear good news Smile

You can use Sleep Bug too to flash this Bios Mod . . .
Unpack the Bios Mod and copy the "modified" folder into C: HD root place !
Then open Command Promt with Admin Rights (CLI window C:\), put your laptop
into Sleep Mode (just close the Lid) and then Wacke-Up It (reopen the Lid),
after this execute these comands from CLI window :

cd \

cd modified

fptw -f bios.bin -bios

(or fptw64 for Windows x64)

Let me know
Regards

Hi,
I also have the lenovo z70. It has an awful broadcom wifi card that uses only one of the two antennas (no MIMO). After reading around on this forum, I took a risk and ordered "Intel 7265 Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260NGW AC 802.11abgn/ac Dual Band 2x2 NGFF 867 Mbps IBM 04X6030" from amazon for £20. And it actually works. On 5GHz band, I get 10MB/s for file transfers over samba. Laptop finally sorted.

Hope this helps, its a cheaper and maybe less risky route to go.

Shailen.
