is there any way of modding the bios to include a sounblaster enable option for motherboards with onboard sound, so as to initialise sound card in dos. i am aware that via ac97 onboard sound chipsets have this option on certain motherboards, but those boards that donot have via chipsets, can they be modded to allow for dos sound? specifically realtec alc chipset eg alc810 etc have no dos support, can the via bios somehow be incorporated into non via bios to enable sound in dos?

You could try giving us your motherboard makae and model , aswell as a bios link so we can take a look at the bios and see if theres any hidden options resembling what you are talking about
