Hi, I'm looking for unlocking (unlocked bios advanced menus and system configuration ... including VT enable, SLIC 2.1) my InsydeH2O Bios for Acer Aspire 5810T Timeline. I'm not sure which options to change.

Ok. I've successfully unlocked bios of 5810T and tested it on my 5810T. It worked Angel

Here's how it went through (GUIDE):

1. Put JM41X64.fd file in a clean FAT-32 formatted USB.
2. Make sure Laptop is turned off. Now, plug USB in any USB port.
3. Before booting laptop, PRESS and HOLD ..... FN+ESC keys
4. Now, Press and Release POWER button to turn the system ON (Do NOT hold power button)
5. Keep holding FN+ESC keys until you see USB activity (LED light flashing on USB)
6. Let go of all keys and wait for the modded BIOS to be loaded (Screen may be black, but don't worry Shy )

Now, Virtualization Technology option will be in found in :

MAIN -> Intel -> Advanced -> Advanced CPU Control -> Chipset Configuration -> VT-d

Will do digging on SLIC 2.1 tomorrow
Date of Modded BIOS : 21/01/2013

This is a great source of information. It saved my laptop. Was there any progress on the slic 2.1 mod?

Any tutorial or information you might recommend on how to maybe get it done myself?

Can you guys create a mod to allow the selection of the graphic card?

The problem with this model (5810TG) is the switchable graphics... we are stuck with specific drivers. Upgrading to Windows 8 is another pain...

The idea is to select between INTEL and ATI boards (and avoid having both drawing power)

Thanks to all!

I found a MODDED BIOS that permits the selection between INTEGATED / ATI:
http://forum.ixbt.com/topic.cgi?id=17:38124:288#288
http://www.mediafire.com/?8jdklwcjovofzp6

I can see now why ACER did not release such an option: the 5810TG won't reboot properly if INTEGRATED is selected! (works fine though, as the SO recognizes only 1 card, and the other will presumably will stay turned off, not drawing any power).

So... was i better off buying the T model (CHEAPER, without the ATI card)? I suppose!
