[Request] Acer Aspire XC600 BIOS unlocked
#1
Hi! My problem is that i can't disable "integrated graphic controller" option in bios (the option is greyed and can't be changed) and becouse of that i can't add better PCI-E graphic card to desktop instead of the onboard one. When i added PCI-E display controller to my desktop even the onboard one wouldn't show any picture.

Heres link to current BIOS:

http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...8220991279&Step1=Desktop, Workstation&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire XC600&OS=701&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=EMEA_12

I put SMBIOS.rw in attatchment. I readed somewhere that it might be usefull. Also if there any other files i can do myself please let me know..

It woul'd be great if someone could take a look. Sorry for my bad english.

Hi JetiMaster,

Unfortunately this uses the new AMI UEFI ".CAP" architecture which I am not personally familiar with. I am able to read some basic informaton from the image into my system but don't have any access to the menu structure. I will need to do some more investigating to see if this is possible.

You cannot even post with the PCI-E in? That seems somewhat unlikely.

Thank you for investigating. Yes it's true i can't even see the post when additional card is inserted. Card starts working when windows regognizes it about at login screen. I feel like i don't own my hardware. Sad

Right, so essentially it makes seeing the BIOS screen a pain but still lets you use your system. I will try to find out more information about the CAP architecture, but it may not be a possible mod.

Yes. I could live with the fact that atleast the onboard gpu worked so i could switch cables when i need to enter bios or install os. What makes me mad is the fact that i need to open up my pc and remove the card to be able to do that. Never OEM pc again i know. It was just so [censored] good looking. Smile Thank you for all your hard work.
