Need help recovering unlocked insyde Bios on Acer aspire 5755G
#1
somebody please pleeeaaase help me, i had installed many bios updates before here going from the unlocked 1.19 till the latest 1.21 unlocked with intel hd3000 vbios :

, these are now installed on my acer 5755G
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=4912 and they were working great.

now by accident i set the ram freq to 1066 mhz, and ever since i'm unable to get anything on my screen whatsoever, i guess because the ram sticks inside are 676 mhz, how can i fix this ? I've been looking trough pages and pages for two days now, the default way of recovery doesn't seem to work anymore :

follow this step to recover your BIOS:
1- copy " P5WE0x64.fd" into your USB Pen
2- turn off your computer
3- unplug AC adapter and remove the battery for a few seconds
4- insert USB Pen
5- plug AC Adapter and battey
6- turn on your PC and immediately press fn + esc
7- Now wait PC finish
8- restart

I used this on a usb stick made to free DOS by unetbook
and i used the PWEOx64.fd from this pack P5WE0121_vBIOS_2158, wich can be found here :
http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-ac...ked?page=8

I have removed the cmos battery , shorted the jumpers n all, tried above method again, still nothing. The method of pressing still should work i'm sure cause it seems to try to do something at least.

I'm way out of my debt guys , i don't know if it has anything to do with the included intel vbios or anything, i need help on all fronts now, i have too many questions and i don't know where to start.

I guess i need a step plan on what to do , wich flash should i use , wich bios drivers should i use wich boot method of usb, (freedos or something else , FAT32 FAT16 or what ?)

Someone please help a lost soul who urgently needs his laptop out..., i've added the drivers and also a pic of what's inside compared to the original acer drivers.

hi oxcyde,

yes i have, andy's tools confirms i have to rename .fd file to P5WE0x64.fd as is described in the service manual, (link above, p 186 etc)

I've done this for the last installed driver and for the driver that was installed before the last one,( make note, both worked fine untill i changed the ram frequency setting too high).

none of the files work, the recovery proces kinda initiates where the pc stays on, but no beeps, no nothing., they just don't load so now i'm wondering if i have to change format or clustersize of my usb , or ad an autoexec.bat to a dos flash or something i dunno, i need advice hard !

I would try it on all of your USB ports. Sometimes vendors only choose one USB port to be the one it looks for to recover from.

Try this method as described into readme.txt and don't use USB 3.0 port, dowload the archive and unpack it, You'll find the Flashit.exe utility and a readme.txt file.
