This may mean that your computer does not support those temperature options. Try the same 'Active Trip Point' setting under the INTEL>'ACPI Control Sub-Menu'. If this setting gives the same result, please follow the instructions in this post. Although highly unlikely, I may be able to circumvent the setting via the NVRAM. This will probably not have a negative result (99% this is the case), but the worst is that you would have to remove your CMOS battery for 5-10 minutes to reset the setting if the computer doesn't like it. Please note that you will only be uploading the result file by following the steps in the aforementioned post. I will be modifying the NVRAM setting afterwards and returning the file back to you for the actual setting change.

Hello kaneace,

I am pretty sure that this means that your BIOS does not support lower options. I am not sure how to modify the BIOS to allow the lower temperature options to work if this NVRAM method does not work.

I am on the fence about cheating the setting. I am not sure that this will change anything. Keep an eye on the CPU temp to see if the setting change made a difference. If it does not, then go into your BIOS and reset the settings to default.

The modified kaneace.txt file can be found at the bottom of this post. I changed the value for register [0126] from (0007) to (0005). This means that the sixth option on the setting's list will be selected (47 degrees Celsius) instead of the eighth option (63 degrees Celsius).

To apply this NVRAM mod, simply reflash the modified textfile in DOS. The symcmos command is below:

symcmos -v2 -Ukaneace.txt   ; "Modified.txt" is an example file name

The capital "U" is intentional.

Hi! Please forgot me for writing here, I can't starting new thread because the input box does not appears in FF.

So, I bought an old Medion Akoya P6630 laptop, I was curios what kind of product is this. Installed Linux Mint on it and now I see to many significations related to BIOS bugs. I have newer seen so many bugs on other brands, so I am really surprised. (Each have 1-2 bug, but this have a lot)

My question (just theoretical): is it possible to correct these BIOS errors / repair it?
It"s a long time ago when I dealt with this (on i386 machines), at that time a whole operating system + Flash program + BIOS file all fitted on a single floppy disk. I know that today's 2MB + sized BIOS files are so big, that a whole life is not enough to examine it...
Here are some error messages:

Rows marked with * maybe are not related to BIOS, but I newer seen them on other laptops.
The BIOS is a modded AMI bios (by Medion), with only a few settings enabled. There is also an use-case bug:
there is only 2 possibility to set the WIFI state: DISABLED and LAST STATE. And if the CMOS battery is low, and the main battery is removed, then the info of LAST STATE item is gone. The WIFI goes DOWN, and is difficult to switch it ON.

I am really curios, what is your opinion, does these things are easy to fix, or not?
