[REQUEST] Lenovo B50-70 (9DCNxxWW) Whitelist Removal
#21
Smile
Thanks BDMaster, that worked perfectly!

When I used the USB boot drive I got the "Error 28", so I did it from Windows 8.1 x64 using fptw64 after waking from sleep mode.

Thanks again. Donation on its way. Smile

I'd like to make a request for a Lenovo B50-70 with an Insyde BIOS WIFI whitelist removal. However I'm a total newbie to BIOS modification; What files are required?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

The option of flashing using a bootable DOS flash drive resulted in an error 28. However using the sleep method and flashing from within Windows worked.

Thanks Again

Question
My apologize for this first post, I did not identified any modified bios related with this version / laptop model on the Directory Listing of /BIOS/Whitelists/

It is possible to bypass WiFi BIOS check?

Using another WiFi card (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265, Model 7265NGW) than the original one I get:
Code:
Unauthorized Wireless network card is plugged in. Power off and remove it

I have a Lenovo B50-70 laptop with a Realtek RTL8723BE WiFi card (M.2 version), my current OS is Ubuntu 14.04 with kernel: 3.19.8-031908-generic.

Occasionally I use a second HDD with Win7, in this case I used to run BIOS tools and obtain bellow files:
1. results.rar link: https://www.sendspace.com/file/bhn6rc
2. BIOS backup archive, LENOVO-9DCN32WW(V3.02).rom : https://www.sendspace.com/file/4t9oin
3. I used last time this BIOS executable update (9dcn32ww.exe) : https://www.sendspace.com/file/xfudea

Official Lenovo support link to download available BIOS update: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products...s/DS101224

I don't know how to identify which BIOS type is currently used. (e.g. AMI or Phoenix)

Are necessary other informations?

Thank you for your time!

SOLVED

Modded BIOS worked like a charm from the first time, thank you very much for your quick response!

I verified on Win7 and Ubuntu, the new network card can be turned on/off from software buttons too (FN + F7) in both OS.

On Windows was necessary to be installed Intel drivers (Intel WLAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Lenovo B40-70, B50-70, E40-70 Notebook), but on Ubuntu 14.04 with 3.19.8 kernel the network card was recognized from beginning.

With modified ROM advanced BIOS menu are available.

The new wireless card info:

I have issues with internal SD Card reader (Realtek Card Reader) it is not recognized by any OS: Windows 7 or Ubuntu.
I assumed a BIOS miss configuration that's why
I updated the BIOS version from modded version: 9DCN32WW(V3.02) to official version: 9DCN32WW(V3.02) but still I'm not able to use the SD Card reader.

Questions:
1. Could be a BIOS issue related with SD Card reader? (seems to be an hardware malfunction, after several attempts seems to read the inserted SD card, in that case the just as an information it is on the modded BIOS something related with internal SD Card Reader?
2. Can be modded the newest version too?

I have bellow links:
