It has to be flashed from Pure Dos !

Are you reading the instructions included ?

Update from pure DOS with USB-bootable stick
See how to make one here:
http://www.howtogeek.com/136987/how-to-c...usb-drive/

https://app.box.com/s/w8xgrhpwf2nx0kamfkc0

http://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale=en_US

Copy the "Modified" folder contents into the stick and boot in DOS mode and
Run Flash.bat to update.

Don't touch Video Settings or Disable Video Card It will Brick laptop !!!

Please post results.

Yes, I have created the USB disk based on the instructions in the file.
I also found the Insyde BIOS recovery directions on this site and have another USB with the original image just in case.

I will try this and post my results later today.

Thanks again.

I tried flashing the changed BIOS but I am getting an "error 280: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space". I read elsewhere that some people have had luck after downgrading their BIOS to earlier versions and then having the whitelist removed on those.. Is that something to try or does this mean the bios cannot be updated like this?

Below is the error message screen, and following that is the 'prr2' output.

Would You try this trick meanwhile . . . I define this option "Custom Menu" and into Insyde Bios there is Always so
using an Insyde key associations You can activate the Backdoor to Boot into Full Menu Tabs actived !

How to unlock Menu Tabs (Temporanely) Mod (Stinger2k) :

" [SUCCESS] BIOS Lock Disabled Yoga 2 13 & Pro

Hey guys,

I found an undocumented function in our yoga´s (specially Yoga 2 13 & Pro) try this . . .

Hard Reset the Yoga (start a directx game and do that on load) --> pushing down the power key for less then 10 seconds
then push randomly and fast (very fast.. - because I don´t know the exact entrypoint for this)
"FN+F2+R" (it´s a little bit tricky i tried this 1 - 3 times but the function is there...')
Now you entered an undocumented Mode in Mainboard-BIOS with Tab´s shown on this video:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/40uaa8iolbfku6j/20150128_194747.mp4?dl=0

See under Advanced | Chipset Configuration | BIOS Lock --> which is enabled / you can disable it ...

Maybe anyone here´s more skilled in bios modding, try to flash a whitelisted bios with this workaround ... "

Ok I can say that Disabling Bios Lock We can weflash Bios easy so You have to get the Custom Menu and
set into configuration the Bios Lock as Disabled, then save settings and Youcan use the Bios Mod !

Or You can try to use FalseClock Metod :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...-EFI-shell

Use an USB Stick Fat32 Formatted for UEFI Boot and respect structure USB_Name:\EFI\Boot

1. Create directory structure EFI\Boot
2. Download BOOTX64.EFI
3. Put downloaded file to Boot directory.
4. Restart and enter BIOS setup.
5. Make sure you have following values:
Legacy Support: Disable
Secure Boot: Disable
6. Reboot and press F9 to boot from USB stick
7. Give commands:

setup_var 0x4AB 0x0

8. Reboot and try to reflash Bios Mos using USB Stick !

Here You can get Efi hacked module :

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?81vegw2aw0pxcib

Try It and let me know

Thanks, I will try the second method first as it seems more predictable :-)
I will let you know how it goes.

I first thought of returning the card that I bought, but what the heck, I am not giving up to Lenovo like that for a $40 card.

Both options does not work. Having the EFI hacked module on the USB does not boot the USB (fat32 formatted). FN-F2-R brings up the Bios menu, but it's the standard menu. I am wondering if Lenovo fixed that in the current bios because I am running the latest BIOS. I should not have upgraded the BiOS to try this card out ..

Now, what are my options?

yes. legacy support was disabled and secure boot was disabled. It's the reboot to USB that is not working. I selected the boot menu and it doesn't show my usb. Maybe the USB was not formatted correctly.

And regarding the setup_var, the one you mentioned in your earlier mail is specific to my bios, right?

I will try again tonight.
