[REQUEST] Lenovo G480 & G580 (62CNxxWW) BIOS Unlock
#1
Phoenix SecureCore Tiano
Lenovo castrated it as much as possible. Practically out-of-box there's nothing there except time/password, boot mode and sequence and super basic settings like AHCI.

Latest version: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/download...D=DS036553

Just VGA settings would be really great, but if possible, I would like to have UEFI Shell as well, since G580 bios is well-known for being a piece of rubbish regarding UEFI management. I even got a warranty mobo replace because of the issues I faced after installing Linux in UEFI mode.

Thanks in advance! A modest tip is guaranteed Rolleyes

UPD: If you point me to an article, briefly explaining the process of SecureCore Tiano modification, it would be my pleasure to do it myself.

In the thread above there's a modified version of the same type of BIOS. It makes me feel good to think that my request is possible Smile

Latest version: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/download...D=DS036553

What is essential for me ($20 guaranteed if these are unlocked):
- VGA settings (ability to allocate more RAM),
- CPU settings (O/C).

Additional $10 ($30 total):
- UEFI shell.

I'll pay via PayPal (transfer fee is not included) after you give me any kind of proof that your modification works and contains settings that I stated.

Thanks in advance and good luck Smile

If you need any additional info or something like BIOS backup, just post here, I'll monitor this thread several times per day.

No sorry, but try this method: http://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Le...2#pid67442
Remove bios.bin, place 62CN97WW_Menus.rom inside the folder and rename it to bios.bin. Afterwards follow felipejfc's instructions.

I won't be able to help you with flashing. It seems you can try prr2 and if it won't work, you are out of luck.

You will need to register an account over there.
