Bug
Hello
I boughted wifi-card for my notebook Lenovo E145

After plugin it, when I turning on notebook, error is showing:
1802: Unauthorized network card is plugged in - Power off and remove the network card (168C/0032/105B/E044)
System is halted

I decided to replace id of my old card to id of new card
But I faced with problems

Here algorhytm I try to update BIOS

1. Updating BIOS for last version from official site (2.02)

2. Starting PhoenixTool, select firmware
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_02.png

3. Choosing manufacturer (Lenovo)
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_03.png

4. Choosing options NO SLIC and allow user to modify other modules
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_04.png

5. PhoenixTool now wait, till we updating required ROM-files
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_05.png

6. Replace old ID with new ID
Old card:
BROADCOM BCM943228HMB VEN_14E4&DEV_4359&SUBSYS_060714E4
New card:
Atheros AR5B225 VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_E044105B

We need to find HEX-string E4145943E4140706 && replace it to 8C1632005B1044E0
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_06.png
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_07.png
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_08.png

Afther that, click OK in PhoenixTools
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_05.png

7. New firmware has name *_SLIC.FL1
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_09.png
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_10.png

8. Changing official firmware (file c:\DRIVERS\Flash\HSAF57WW\HSET57WW\$0AHS000.FL1)
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_11.png

9. Here is problem. Official firmware is writing:
Warning: Skipping all SLP subregions!
Error 234 - SecureFlash verification fail!
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_12.png

WinPhlash also doesn't work:
Corrupted interface descriptors in the new BIOS file
Part Table Signature not found in the interface
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitelist/phnx_13.png

Here is original firmware (HSET57WW 2.02):
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitel...AHS000.FL1
Changed firmware (by me):
http://files.todk.net/lenovo-e145-whitel...ATCHED.FL1

Please need help, thanks!

P.S. If someone can create correct patch, please upload it!

Hi friend,
SecureFlash (RSA protection) avoid to reflash modded Bios so We have to look for another way !
First of all have You tried to use a SLP Marker to enable Slic 2.1 ?

Look here :

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...-Utilities

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...p-donation

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...0?p=478696&viewfull=1#post478696

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads...y-Thinkpad

So better is to get Marker enabled before and not have to write new one, then do a
Remove Whitelist on a complete Bios Backup !
It's your laptop based on AMD CPU ?
Let me know
Regards

Use this tool run It as Administrator and upload here the result file :

P.S. write a PM to Sovem too !!!
