safasafari, do you have a programmer for flash BIOS chips?
Sometimes a BIOS for another model of motherboard can be suitable.
If I had ASUS P5PL2-E I would try to flash a BIOS developed for another model - ASUS P5LD2 SE (it has a very similar PCB layout to ASUS P5PL2-E).
Although such another BIOS can brick your board or some devices can stop working properly. So try only on your own risk!
I do have a programmer so it's not a problem for me to unbrick a motherboard with bad BIOS.
P.S. ASUS P5PL2-E supports only DDR2-533 whereas ASUS P5LD2 SE also supports DDR2-667
