Dell Dimension E520 (0WG864)
#1
Hello friends, I was wondering if possible to update microcode to unlock C2D E7XXX CPU (and Xeon L5408) in Dell Dimension E520 BIOS?

The current one is limited to older 65nm CPU (no SSE 4.1) and no LGA771 CPU (with mod) even though chipset (Intel Q965) is capable of running these CPU (as long as its 1066 FSB or lower)

With no update and incompatible CPU it will not fully boot and just has 100% Fan Speed no display

BIOS Link: https://dl.dell.com/bios/DM061-020400.EXE
Version 2.4.0

I will include CPU-Z images

Thank you for your time Smile

It is Core 2 Duo E7200

Should be compatible with the chipset as its 1066 FSB

I do not have image of CPU-Z because it will not boot

I don't need a screenshot, but a photo from the top.

Thank you, I flash the mod and it boots normally with Pentium D
but after installing E7200 it does not boot (same no display with 100% fan)
