and now the computer works great ( it seem i can now upgrade my processor)

I'm thinking about to exchange DAO61L in my EL1200 (emachines) with DAO78L (acer Ax1200).
How robust is it DAO78L motherboard?
-----------------------------------
---------------------------------------

hello upiter77

on the dao61L i remember that there were bugs with the integrated graphic card ( bugs never corrected by acer ( emachines) )

i'm using since 2010 my computer with the dao78L motherboard ( buyed in china by ebay ) , and i can say it's a better product compared to the old dao61l ___

with the dao78L i can use amd phenom 2 x4 9550 processor , i have a nvidia 9500 gs that works great , and i have no problem , no bugs , nothing

i works great under windows 7 (tested one year in dual boot with linux ) ,and now i 'm using xubuntu ( better than windows 7 )

change the mainboard on the computer is easy ( take photos _ snapshots if you are unsure for connections Wink

i hope this will help you

to precise : i added a nvidia 9550 gs on the pci xpress slot for video games

the dao78l has a 8200 integrated graphic card (that work for reading movies , vidéos )

These boards do not have a soldered PCIex 16x slot but the support and the pinout are there so you normally just need to take one bank from an acer ax1200 for example wich you can purchase!
There is no PCI and only 2 RAM-sockets!!

As far as I can see there would be no problem in flashing our "tuning-BIOS"...

Hey Guys I wonder If anyone has in fact tried soldering a new PCI 16 slot on there board, I don't think this is going to work the slots on the board go to other traces on the board that connect to diodes, capacitor, Voltages regulators and other supporting hardware If they didn't put the slot in why would they hook up all the connection to it or put in the supporting hardware. I could be wrong but it seem ulikly besides I tried it before (with other things and that WAS the case> so I would confirm with someone that this will indeed work before wasting your time ...sorry to say.
