AHCI SATA enable HP DV2713CA
#11
Thanks! Will test tonight!

I just tested. It does something, so it "works", but when I enable AHCI, then my HD is not detected anymore by the bios, only the CD Drives is detected. So my guess is that they disabled the AHCI interface right onto the motherboard itself.

what do you think ?

well , i have unlocked all options for you and you still can`t enable AHCI !!...............in this case , i assume that my point of view is completely right Big Grin .
it`s normal when you knew that all phoenix bioses are similar in the setup utility or options but they have created routines to hide or show some special options depending on your notebook type and model.
what i mean is that you can check another notebook`s phoenix bios and you would find it identical in alot of options...........like when i check my acer`s 5536G phoenix bios , i found a hidden menu called AMD and it contains alot of options about the chipset and the integrated graphics card ( there is no integrated card in my acer 5536G , it`s only ATI 4570 ) ............so , you would ask how these options are found although i haven`t got integrated card!!!!
the answer is easy , the option is found but it`s hidden not visible.............PHOENIX won`t make a special bios image for every notebook , this would take alot of time and effort........instead of this , they made some modules roughly identical in it`s bioses ( like the templat.rom , strings.rom and setup.rom which all are responsible for showing and hiding options and menus ) and the only change would be just the strings of the manufacturer a or OEM and few options.
phoenix also had put routines in these modules to check if the hardware supports this option or not however , there are alot of options which are supported with the notebook`s hardware and hidden.
but there are some options are found in the bios image and it`s routines are existed but when you try to unlock it , it would be useless because of the hardware suppport.
so , all notebooks which have phoenix bios and AMD cpu have a hidden menu called AMD..........and it`s the same for intel ( menu called INTEL or INTEL ADVANCED ).
and all these menus contains the options for integrated graphics card , however you may not have an integrated one!
from here you should knew that about 30% to 40 % of hidden options are hidden because the routines discovers that hardware or notebook model doesn`t support it.
and the other 60% of these options hidden but works well , and it`s our job to unlock it Big Grin
so , finding the string of any hidden option didn`t mean that it would work after unlocking it ...............this depends on hardware support for this option............even if you found that hardware supports this option , may be there are some special problems in this model which make the option doesn`t work .............the only way to knew this is to unlock the option and try adjusting it to see if it works or not.

i hope you understand my opinion as i have unlocked all options but it still doesn`t work . so , it might be that you should adjust another option before setting the ahci mode , your notebook might not support it , there is a problem in this model for ahci .........etc .

I hope I'm not digging up an old thread, but I have an HP DV2941SE laptop which also uses the f28 BIOS. I flashed your modded version and I can confirm that with AHCI enabled, it causes the hard drive to not be found by the BIOS. However, I can boot from a CD/DVD/Flash Drive just fine.

My goal is actually to install OSX on this computer, which I've managed to do, it just won't boot. If I AHCI and then boot the OSX install DVD, the disk utility can detect the hard drive, I can partition and then install the system. Unfortunately, in order to boot from the hard drive I have to switch back to IDE mode. From there I can actually access the mac boot loader and it gets to the point where it loads the kernel and then it will hang giving me a "waiting for root device" error. I think I might be SOL on this one.

I guess the lesson here is DO NOT BUY HP PRODUCTS

Boot a linux live CD while in ahci mode then go to terminal and put this

lspci -s 00:1f.2 -nnvvxxx

and paste here the result, maybe adding an AHCI option rom to the bios can make the drives be detected and booted from the bios.

BIOS REPOSITORY.Please consider donating (me or forum) if you like my work.
Please remember to come back and leave feedback. I hate leech and disappear thing.

Nice day.
