Has someone already unlocked the advanced features in this BIOS? If so, can someone point me to it? If not, can someone please mod it for me? Link is here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...ct=3262013

Thank you.
P.S. Oh, I forgot to add that the Bios version is 3.10.

Rather than start a new thread, is it possible to enable AHCI mode on this BIOS or is the feature completely missing? I'm trying to do a Hackintosh install on a PC I had sitting around and it requires AHCI mode for the SATA devices. Hitting F11 I can see the modes it is currently in (IDE) but am unable to change that.

Hello! I have an HP Pavilion a1630n. Phoenix version 3.10 AwardBIOS /ACPI 2.0. I'm looking for Overclocking abilities to hopefully fine tune my aging computer. I like the idea of reversing the BIOS.ROM file! I'm adding the file as an attachment and hope to see this baby unlocked! Can't even begin to say how mad I was when I found out HP locked/hid settings from me LOL. ASUStek board. CPU-Z shows the Model as NODUSM ?? Not sure if that's correct or not, other specs are AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+. Socket AM2 (940) "Windsor" code name.

.rom   PhoenixTechnologies,LTD-3.10.rom (Size: 512 KB / Downloads: 14)

Out of curiosity, I wanted to see what the text strings looked like for my file, so I changed the .rom to .exe and loaded it into Olly Debug and very quickly found a "Hidden Consle" text. Any idea if that's for the Console you select with F11, or is that what they're hiding from us completely like overclocking settings?

Also, my HP had version 3.06. I updated to the 3.10 after reading elsewhere that "updating" the bios might fix/add settings. After more reading I ended up here. I noticed that virtually every other Award Bios versions are here except 3.10. What would happen if I just re-flashed the cracked 3.06 from here over the 3.10? I really want to get my 2.41Ghz to around 2.9-3.1Ghz to compliment my Geforce GTX 550Ti VC.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I wanna upgrade fans and heat sink after dealing with unlocking my BIOS settings. Thanks for reading!

Please anyone? Can I just reflash the BIOS using 3.06 from the unlocked AwardBIOS section?(computer originally had 3.06 before updating to 3.10) I'm really wanting to upgrade my processor's speed and am considering a new motherboard altogether, but it would be MUCH cheaper for me to just unlock the bios settings and get a little more from my current setup.

Still wondering if I can reflash using another version like the unlocked 3.09 Award BIOS? Seems like that had unlocked OC settings. I believe my factory BIOS was ver. 3.06. I don't remember updating before the 3.10. From what I've read, I've seen others post successful downgrades to their BIOS, but with previous versions they already had used.

So, was 3.09 an update before 3.10? Or was it designed for different PC's? Was really hoping to get some feedback from some pro's here, but guess no one's reading this Sad

Well, I tried reflashing to v3.06 using the winflash supplied with the D/L. I renamed the 3.06 to 3.10. It still warned about BIOS "id" being different, click to continue. I did. It started going thru the update procedure. At the very end it complained about not erasing block?(was kinda quick, barely caught it) then the program just shut down. I tried to reflash once more, and it gripes about "id" not matching. Then, I tried the known good 3.10 copy (which I tried before all this to make sure still good) and it's griping about it's "bios id" as well!Angry I'm afraid to power down as I'm not sure it'll power back up.

I'll try running that program that copies the BIOS ( the one used to post my bios here) and see if it took or not, or what version it thinks it's running (if any, assuming it's trashed)
FHM ROM is write protected? Says to check for jumper. But this the thing, I put the known good (3.10) BIOS copy in WinHex, followed by the 3.06 and then the Universal Bios Back-up Copy just now. The copy it pulled from the computer matches the 3.06 about 80% in WinHex. The beginning starts out the same, but as you get further down towards the bottom, the hex values are definitely not the same. Also, this 3.06 has some chunks of area with nothing but FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF which I'm thinking the original you guys uploaded might be off? Someone plz help? If I do a DOS USB set-up, (the winflash is too unpredictable with non matching "id's") are my odds of saving it now better? I'm not shutting it down, crosses fingers.
