OK. Can you still unlock the BIOS for its options? I would greatly appreciate it.

still if you can unlock the BIOS for the options you can find now it would be great cos I´m also interested on the memory timings and pll options if there are any.
Thank you very much for helping me.
OK. I'll check for any useful & relevant hidden menus/options for DDR settings. I'll update here for any news.

Hi UnolocK,

In addition to Main menu, can you see the Advanced & Power sections in the BIOS setup menu?

This is modified BIOS image for Clevo M540SR. It's based on BIOS M54SR_13. Use at your own risk! If you use this modified BIOS image please take pictures some of the unlocked options/menus & post them here.

Please make sure your notebook can recover corrupted BIOS with CRISIS disk before flashing BIOS with this modified BIOS image. I will not responsible for any problem. Good luck. Smile

Sorry for the late replay. I´ve been working.
Yes I was able to see them.

Via told me that the datasheet has EOLed (I guess that means that they burn to ashes all the documents and destroyed all their HDs Tongue) but they asked me for more details so maybe they can still help!

Thank you very much for your help. I'll flash it and report back (I hope I still can, then). Regards.

Thumbs Up
The BIOS worked well, no problem for flashing! The only thing is that the Command Rate 1T/2T does nothing, it remains in 2T. Is there anything that can be done or its cos of DDR2?. And the Virtualization option did not appear but its cos celeron m540 doesn't support it. Regarding the Dual Channel, its good to have the option but I can't tell until I get 2 1GB memory sticks to test, then I'll report back!.
Thank you very much Kizwan! You realy know what you're doing man! Many thanks! Big Grin
Here are some pics.

Thank you for the feedback. Smile The Command Rate setting depend on the DDR2 module capability. You might need to flash/program the DDR2 module to support other Command Rate. The Virtualization option is not visible because your computer hardware doesn't support it. It will automatically appeared when you upgrade the processor to VT capable processor.

Hi there,
I've already applied the new (modded) BIOS (the company that "re-branded" my Clevo, Insys, actually used your modded BIOS and made it available for download on their FTP). Anyway, it seems that 2x2GB doesn't work in dual-channel mode, and the Command Rate (CR) setting doesn't work.
Now, I know nothing/very-little about BIOS editting/modding but from the looks of my findings you are only able to enable features already present on the BIOS. So my question is are you able to edit the BIOS in a way that the remaining settings for the latencies (tRCD, tRP and tRAS) would be configurable on the BIOS settings or is it a no go (settings missing)?
BTW is there a Windows application that allow me to change the remaining latencies settings for this VIA chipset (VN896), like AMD overdrive on AMD chipsets (I've tried RMMA but this is an unsupported chipset)?
Thanks a lot.

As long as there is such text/string in the BIOS, I can unlocked it. If not, the only way is "hardcoded" in the BIOS. "Hardcoded" method is not advisable because if the value is not supported, the only way to recover your computer is by BIOS recovery or using a programmer device to recover the BIOS chip. Anyway, I only familiar with Intel chipset because their datasheet is publicly available. It is nearly impossible or difficult to do anything without chipset datasheet. If you want to change memory timings, you can use Thaiphoon Burner or SPD Tool.

Hello, I'm also brand new here.
I also own a CLEVO M540SR motherboard with a Celeron 540@1.86GHz and have found out the instructions manual for the similar Amazon PC L81 (see attachment) and there is stated that my notebook can work with Intel C2D T7100/7300/7500/7700 because of the same socket P. Is this the same case of yours? Best Regards.
