Don't worry, will review it soon.

Please bro, I really would appreciate it if you could get that mod done when you get the chance. it does work, but for the ide option freezes in bios.. im more than happy to test any and all fixes u have for that.. just need to get that option up to get my raid array and port multi working, thanks again in advance a bunch!

Yes, the option shows up.. it allows me to choose it, but none of my hard drives are seen at all in bios likely because the ICHR bios rom option to show it is not enabled.. I am sure this controller allows for raid config.. my main thing was to find a way to enable external sata port multi, and port multi only works in raid mode for the ich10... i much appreciate your effort here, but not sure what exactly the deal is.. the one time i was able to get into the other mod bios u made that had the config ide, there was a lot more options to get the port multi working..... however, i may be wrong about my controller allowing for raid.. i dont think so but i am sure it is possible.. any suggestions?

Boot of a linux live cd and do from terminal

lspci -vvv

And we will see if the controller is in raid mode.

isnt it just as good to boot with windows 7 cd/usb install? i did the windows 7 thing and no hard drives were found to install win 7 on, even after loading the ich10r pre install driver... do you still think the linux method would help after i did the win 7 thing above?

what might work out ok is just to have "IDE CONFIGURATION" option in the bios that allows for every element of the ide controller to be tweaked.. i think before perhaps too many over all options might have been causing the freez ups.. this way, i should be able to config the controller correctly.. i dont think that will freeze up anything.. just a suggestion.. appreciate your work on this..

Let's see, we need to know if the controller is in RAID mode, so we need to know it's PCI ID with the raid setting on in bios.

The only way i know is linux live CD and lspci command. That will show all info about the devices hooked at the PCI bus.

From that point we can find two things, controller is in RAID mode with the RAID PCI ID, or not.

If it's in raid mode we need to find if there's an option rom in the bios for that device ID (controller in RAID mode), that one is the one who sees your HDs, let you configure raid and then passes the units detected to the bootmanager to be able to boot from them.

I hope it's clear now.
