Ok, I got my machine back running.. same as before, i even tried to network boot after enabling it in bios.. i just dont why unbuntu recognizes my drives in raid mode, but the bios boot option screen will not recognize any drive, or windows install disk.. i tried to install windows no drives are recognized. any other ideas? appreciate the help.. tried to donate to you personally, but it's all written in spanish i think.. got another paypal that accepts americans and in english?

we know linux will recognize raid mode.. i dont think we need the raid rom to fire.. we only need the bios under the f9 option to actually see the attached drives there.. in the main bios option under the ide config, if raid is picked, it shows the attached drives.. i would suggest to look at it under normal achi operation.. see now, under raid mode, in linux, linux directly communicates with the hardware. the trick is getting the drives to show when choosing the f9 option at start up.. for some reason, the boot menu is not receiving communication from the hardware in the bios. is there a flag somewhere that is not enabled under raid mode to show the drives in f9? that is why i say to look how the drives communicate under achi mode.. i really think it is just an issue of setting the right flags in the bios.. there has to be a way because hp offered my model with a 2 drive raid config. as i said before, check your pm on here.. im happy to donate for your time.. just cant the way u have set up because i am not allowed on paypal.. my pm will tell you how to do it.. peace!
f9 = u choose that, u get the boot menu option, under achi i can see all my drives.. under raid mode, no drives appear on the boot menu.. that is where the issue is.. if u can think of a way to get the drives to show up under f9 with raid option enabled, the issue will be resolved.. achi enabled does not need the achi rom to fire.. raid rom does not have to fire either.. i can do the raid config inside windows if needed.. the raid option turns on all the sata ports to port multi.
