EDIT. Nevermind, it had nothing to do with the bios, it's a problem caused by running combofix on a laptop with optimus. Reinstalling windows is the only fix.

can someone make a photo of the graphic videos menu in the advanced tab? please.. its the only way to solve the problem and that is re-enabling the integrated graphics without any screen . Thanks If you remove the RAM and you will find CMOS Jumper. You have to short the two points

It is that easy? Wow. I took the whole [censored] thing apart. I guess at least now know how to get it open if I even need to replace anything...

That guide is incorrect.
Step 3: Rename P5WE01xx.BIN to P5WE0x64.fd is nonsense.
The bios .bin file has a length of 4194304 bytes.
On the other hand, the .fd file must have 4325376 bytes, as the result of joining the .rom file (131072 bytes) and the .bin file (4194304 bytes).
A simple way to obtain the correct .fd file is extracting it from the P5WE01xx.exe file, that is included in "BIOS_Acer_1.xx_x_x.zip". that you can download from Acer website.
A second method is to make it manually:
copy /b K17C1xxx.rom + P5WE01xx.bin P5WE0x64.fd
Please excuse my poor English.
Best regards.

it was so easy? 0.o
instead i took my whole 5755g apart just to release the cmos battery
btw the cmos battery is somewhere below the touchpad
and how do i do the jumper thing? i only know the desktop jumper, which simply plug the block to the jump 2/3 and plug back jumper 1/2 then done
this one ... how?
just learn incase i fck up my bios again

exactly the same thing i did
anyway, i took off the whole 5755g to flip the cmos battery off
so the setting going to revert
anyway, fixed (flip off the cmos battery)

Hi, I found this thread looking for mods for the Aspire 5750 (Not the 5750G) and after seeing that Acer used the same BIOS installer for both models, I figured it was likely the same BIOS used on both sub-versions of the laptop. (Both mobos are almost the same anyway, the 5750 mobo even has a 'bald spot' where the Nvidia GPU isn't installed.)
I couldn't find any 5750 modded BIOS but the 5750G BIOS worked fine. So I'm fairly certian that the BIOS is the same for both.
I just felt like saying thanks and contributing. This isn't just a 5750G mod thread, but a 5750 and 5750G thread.
