Acer M1610/VTM261
#1
Hey guys, i want to OC, but the bios is locked. I just want some more functionality out of the board, mainly overclocking features.

Motherboard: Acer F672CR

Bios Version: R01-B1 (Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG)

Official Bios: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...2916134777&Ste

It would really be appreciated.

Hello And Welcome To The Forum!

Acer bioses seem to be a hit and miss thing to be honest. Some of them just have overclocking hidden and enabling is easy where as others have the features completely removed as the boards cannot physically achieve them.

Theres a few useful things that ive managed to unlock in your bios , the main one being DRAM Clock and Timing Control which of course is for overclocking your memory Big Grin

Also the CPU Host/PCIE/PCI which is for overclocking your processor i think (theres nothing there to adjust fsb so that must be it)

Enjoy , and remember that you flash this at your own risk , i wont be held responible if you flash it!

Wow! thanks that was fast.
i just found out winflash wont work for win64, im going to have to make a bootcd to update

ill tell you what happens

thanks again, you rock
OMG!!!! THANKS!!!
after ruining 3 cdr's i got it to work. I use AWDFLASH893.exe.

btw, is there anyway to change the acer logo? it seems to be an overlay on the awardbios.

thats really cool! I dont really care, i was kinda hoping it would be possible to just remove it. basically it looks like:
________________________

Acer

_________________Intel__

but it flashes a yellow-black bios, and i mean real bios, with some energystar logo, very quickly.

Is it possible to just get rid of the Acer/intel splash?

Ah , what you are referring to can be donein the bios i think.

Either the Quick Power On Self Test option or Small Logo (EPA) Show ,

Try messing with these two and see if it gets rid of the acer logo

otherwise il re mod to remove it for you

Kind Regards

I got rid of the logo.

is there any way to add more fsb speeds in the OC menu?
the only OC is 266mhz having 233mhz would be nice too. Im getting BSOD at 266, but the only other option is default clock.

Il have a read into it but once you start adding things and moving them around its really easy to corrupt the bios!!!

First Thanks for unlocking the BIOS!! I now have 3 options in the bios, where the fastest FSB is 266MHZ. Is it possible to extend this range. Because the Proc is easily OC to 375MHZ?
