8GB DDR3 Memory issue, possible bios update?

When i put in the stick, a beeping sounds starts and the computer won't turn on. i figure it will downgrade the speed, but its not working. So i was wondering is there a bios update to fix it.

alright thanks. I have to look around and see what computer i can use this stick on. I was thinking about a Xeon 5670 cpu, / T3500
motherboard. I will do some research before buying.
