Hi DB,
I was finally able to test it and to verify that your BIOS mod works, while my trows the error. The question is why? I feel sad.

Do you think it is the fact that more than 15 CPU microcodes are not handled or in your experience this should be put in the fist positions?

Thanks for the clarification.

Greetings!

Got subj currently working with Pentium 4 sl7z9, cpuid: 0F43.
Would like to run it with core 2 duo SLA4U, cpuid: 06F6. The mobo doesn't post with it. Tried adding 06F6's microcode to the bios with mmtool - no change.

Needing an advice and/or bios mod.
Attaching original bios.

Thanks!

This motherboard doesn't support CPU with Conroe core because of old VRM10.

Thanks for the info!
I'm going to try a pin-mod according to this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/show...MoBo#close

The model doesn't have a hardware version supporting Conroe. So ASUS did'n make the newer BIOS to initiate Conroe properly. Adding new CPU microcode won't help. So , IMO , you'll bump into some issues even if your motherboard with pin-mod starts and shows a POST screen.
