ASUS P5QC BIOS Mods
#21
[bogocity]
I believe something keeps your CPU from idling ... maybe a background process or an application. I have tested E6420, E7600 and Q9300 (main CPU) and there is no problem with SpeedStep tech. Try clearing CMOS and overclock it again (make sure SpeedStep is turned on). If the problem persists then use bios file from the very first post.

thx

1.EDIT: dont work
in cmd.exe i became an error when i´m write the cert name in it with
slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\ASUS-_ASUS_-2.1.xrm-ms (3 names tried)

2.EDIT: work
i must write the complete path in
slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\ASUS\CERT\CERT name

slmgr.vbs -ipk ****key***

i do this for first time therefore the difficulty

Hello guys,
I´ve just seen this post about P5QC bios mods (kinda late Big Grin). I'm having RAM issues with this mobo. I´ve bought 2x4GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz RAM and when I insert the modules the mobo doesn´t boot. Is there any modded bios with uptodated RAM table? Is there anything I can do to have success with those RAM, or its just impossible? Thanks. Best regards.

This mobo is very unstable with DDR3 memory. I couldn't solve DDR3 issues with this mobo Undecided

What modules exactly are for memory table?

I can see 2 "memory sizing" modules (ID 15 for both).
Are these the ones needed to be replaced?

btw, do I specifically need memtable from ASUS boards or can I extract it from any DDR3 mobo?

EDIT: memtables use the uncompressed form?

hi! my name´s Norbert.
A have a asus p5qc with 2103 bios. I bought a caviar black wd sata iii, because I thought that it will be backward compatible, but even with jumpered to sata 1,5gb it doesn´t boot up. There is a way to modify the bios or some firmware (for example south bridge-just asking), to make the sata 6gb hdds backward compatible?
thanks for your answers
