ASUS UX330UAK BIOS
#11
You can ask for dump, maybe someone will see your thread? I looked for a long time in google, no luck Sad

Maybe you could contact Asus, explain in very short detail you purchased new board from them and need complete BIOS SPI to "Program" with keyboard backlight LED enabled.

Hope you can find actual dump, or Asus will help!

Hi,

I found some bios files from this website, bios-downloads.com , now I have like 10 Bios files, but don't know for sure if any of them is a not "messed up" bios dump
Would you mind to take a look on it? flashed with ch341 , the laptop came back, but still no lights on keyboard.

Attached Files

Also, as I said before, I got this message when I try Gary Fix method "bios doesn't support extf function"
Googling like a freak about it I found that this a "extf" may be a led function that the bios doesn't support. I found that searching for extf led

Since you have board back up and running, reflash latest stock BIOS using stock method and then send me FPT or programmer dump - never mind, see below
In meantime I will check 300-302 above - all same, incorrect method used to create a "Dump" to share/help others fix things.
There is no reason for that, and people should quite doing it!

This is same as downloading the BIOS from Asus (Which is partial/upgrade/Update) not a complete BIOS. Stock BIOS programmed to board will run too, I suppose this may be the main reason for doing that, but it's dumb to call this a dump and pass out to people instead of just saying "Download from Asus = same/same"

The area that fixes keyboard light is only going to be present in an actual dump from a working board. Your best bet is to try and find someone with same system and get them to dump BIOS region via FPT, AFU, or Universal BIOS backup toolkit. Then you will have a real actual BIOS dump

There is a guy selling a winbound bios chip already programmed on ebay, He said that it is an actual dump from a working system, should I give it a try and solder it on the MB? I really don't know any person who have this laptop here, I live in Brazil now and the machine was bought when I was living in Canada

I do not believe it and you should not either Big Grin It's the same thing all these people would tell you about the files we've been checking, "They're actual dumps from live boards" They may be, but they are dumps from a board where someone programmed in stock BIOS upgrade not complete BIOS, then dumps, which is same as not programming/dumping, pointless and is not a complete dump.

All BIOS solder pre-programmed on ebay are same way, using this same type of file (and same confusion of it being programmed with an actual dump). I am very familiar with that stuff on ebay, they can't sell BIOS from actual dump anyway, if they did all users would end up with the dumps serial, UUID, MAC ID ect (Instead of blank/generic/FF/00 which is what you'll get from that type of BIOS replacement)

You'll have to find other users with same, on forums, or facebook type places maybe. Or maybe you can find a dead/part/as-is cheap on ebay, probably cheaper to try and find dead motherboard than complete system, but you may find either cheap if you look often.

Or, you may be able to get Asus to send you full SPI Image, ask them via email, tell them you replaced dead BIOS chip and need full SPI Image and that you can put in your own system details but you need complete BIOS Image and not partial BIOS update that's provided on normal BIOS download page.
