Hi
I need to replace my Asus ATI 3470 VGA card with a Gfirce 9650, Can you help me with a mod bios to support both, Thank you, Currently my vga does not work at all or sometimes I get random colors and shut down.

No problem, now it supports ATI 3470, ATI 3650 and as you wished ASUS NVIDIA 9650m GT 1GB DDR2 Cool

ps. if you want to use new nvidia drivers with 9650m gt you will need to disable POWERMIZER in driver options. Powermizer enabled makes bsod and random black screen. Good luck Smile

Well first try to connect external display using a VGA. If it works ok, no artifacts, bad colors, windows is loading ok and so on that would mean there could be a problem with my bios or your laptops screen ( for example fluorescent lamp is broken ). You could also put your old graphic card (it is still supported in my bios) and check if you have the same problem (no backlight).

Thanks for your quick reply . Back light is OK with original ATI Card but no external vga with either of cards. Original ATI has problem ( random strips, artifact etc) that's why I try to replace with the gForce Nvidia. With gforce the PC boots to windows and I notice it works with basic resolution but can not do anything or install drivers cuz. Its too dark. External Output is broken already I guess and works on non of the VGA Cards. Any fix is possible?
Thanks for your assistance

Try using function key like Fn+F6 in windows. In my laptop it rises brightnes. Ok if it doesnt help you could try flashing new bios. In this mod I used different bios version for 9650m gt. Hope this helps.

Hi Raalph
I inserted the original ATI and tried to flash on Windws 7, by asus winflash utility, but got error : current bios is newer, can not update. I had 5 minutes to work with this graphics card before it got hot, and shut down, Could not do update your Version 2 bios with Nvidia installed for its too dark to see.
Now I have included a Bios of ASUS N80Vn using the same VGA card and chipset. maybe its of use or comparison.

or maybe you can can adapt it to be flashed on Asus F8Vr?
Anothe question I have a Lenovo x201 that gives me RFID error on boot and could not fix it by IBM Disk management utility , is there any way to edit bios so it does not check RFID? or any other fix you recommend?
Thank you

Well try flashing this bios using options in your laptop bios (advanced/start easy flash). Flasher needs about 20s for successful upgrade. Dont use N80V bios because probably you will break your laptop. I am no expert in Lenovo, sorry.
