Acer Aspire E1 572 black screen, needs bios flash
#11
(12-30-2014, 07:06 PM)burglar Wrote: Hi BDMASTER

Ok friend,
try this file v.2.17 Recovery Bios :

http://rghost.net/60071116

Prepare an USB Fat32 Formatted and copy into the V5WE2217.fd file, then use this Procedure :

- Performing the emergency flash:

- Shutdown the netbook (notebook)
- Remove all peripheral devices
- Remove battery, Remove AC power cord
- Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds (battery and AC power still out), then release
- Put the USB Memory Stick in the USB port
- Hold "Fn" + "Esc" and plug the AC power cord in
- Now press the power button (whilst still holding Fn + Esc).
Wait until the fan will run, then release "Fn" + "Esc" keys
- The fan will run for about 2-10 minutes and the USB drive activity LED will blink
- I think the netbook rebooted automatically. If it doesn't, unplug the AC power cord once the fan has turned off

The bios should be updated with the modified BIOS, and boot as per normal.

Let me know
Regards

P.S. if You Overclocked or changed Video Setting Disabling Video Card will not be possible to Recover your Bios !!!

I assume it is not normal for it to run over 10 mins?

Fans are going, USB is flashing but it's taking ages.

I simply copied the file V5WE2X64.fd onto a Portable usb HD having formatted it exFAT.

Is that ok? exFat was the only option. Did i need to rename the file in any way?

I can hear my HD is repeatedly trying to get going then stopping. Seems it is struggling to read the file from the HD? I think i need to safely stop the process it's in currently and re attempt it using a usb pen drive which i'm borrowing in a moment. so long as i dont need to rename the bios file?

UPDATE:

I formatted a usb pen drive to FAT32, initiated the emergency flash with the stick in. Fans start up, usb led begins to flash, I get three loud beeps and the fans stop??

Hi friend,
the Recovery Bios Procedure is simple :

1. Prepare an USB Stick 1GB is better, format as FAT32
2. copy into the Recovery Bios File with the right Name
3. follow the sequence to recover  . . .

So now It seems your laptop cannot get the file older, but safest !
So I uploaded for You the v. 2.13 here try with It (follow instruction to
prepare an USB Stick by USBprep It will include Bios on USB) :

http://rghost.net/60084109

I used It to reflash Bios Mod and worked all times, so if t will not work
on your We have none chances to recovery your bios !!!
Then next step is HW SPI PGM !

Thanks BDMASTER,

I followed your instructions and unfortunately still three long beeps when the USB lights starts blinking then fans stop Sad

Can I ask a couple of questions:

- You say copy the file with the "right" name. It has the right name already yes? Or do I have to re name it?

- Have you any idea what the 3 long beeps means as an error code?

- What is HW SPI PGM! ?

Many thanks for your assistance.

Ok friend,
the right name is Recovery Name = V5WE2X64.fd
S You have to only check It as I have done lot of time ago !
SPI Programmer look here :

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...5#pid74575

But for your laptop You have to check the Eeprom Chips used on It for compatibility !

Here there are reuploaded the Recovery Files for 2.17 and 2.13 and 2.12 :
