Awesome!! So windows 7 64 bit should be fine to run on here with cpu? I get my stuff friday. I also saw something in the forums about ati 5700 series. is there some issues with using the ati 5700 series in these asus mobos? I currently use a evga 9800gtx+. I was planning on getting a ati 5770. That should work fine with my setup? Ill post how the cpu and win7 is working.

I know for a fact that that CPU and mobo will work under Win764bit, but there have been various reports on the stability of those ati cards booting, some people can't get them to post etc.

I would until we can confirm the bug has been resolved. Work on the CPU first

yeah with my luck I have a feeling something will go wrong with it reading the cpu or with the windows install heh. Cant wait til friday.
System still able to POST when set CPU Multiplier to 35X, but actual frequency will not change. Am I going to have to change that somehow? In your opinion do you think its worth upgrading the cpu only for this older mobo or building a newer system? is the 1000mhz ht limitation going to make a difference?

Yeah the 1000mhz HT will always make the differene, but you can always get the CPU and wait to upgrade the board later, the multiplier is irrelevant.

As requested on the Guru3D thread, fixes:-
>Fix the USB keyboard issue, wont work / post freezes with USB keyboard when used (must resort to PS/2 KB) >Phenom II 955BE - the multiplier bug, still using ntune to get my multi up to 17x as its locked at 4x (800MHz CNC bug) Thats all I can thing off, nice too see you back Wiz ![]()

There is a bug in the bios that causes my computer (Windows 7 64 bit) to hang when it comes out of sleep or hibernation.
Cool and quiet will not allow you to overclock the cpu multiplier on the blank edition CPUs. I can live with that since their are work arounds. Thank you for working on this bios!!! |
