Asus P5K-E Wifi AP
#41
Just wanted to add my voice to say that this 10.6 BIOS works on y P5K-E/WiFi-AP too.

I had to use it because my new Intel 320 series SSD wasn't showing up in the BIOS and it was preventing the computer from even booting. One I was in Windows, I could plug the SSD and Windows would see it. Strange thing.

Thanks Dansolo.

I've just discovered something wrong with the JMicron 1.07.28 ROM included in this modded BIOS. Previous user reported that RAID on the JMicron worked on this BIOS it is true. IDE mode is also working. But AHCI mode seems broken, I cannot past the JMicron scanning drive page after POST when I set the JMicron controller to AHCI. In RAID mode and in IDE mode everything works as usual.

Since I don't use the onboard PATA connector nor the two eSATA, I just disabled the controller in the BIOS.

But just be aware, AHCI does not work on the JMicron controller anymore.

is there a way (in the 1305 bios) to select vcore voltages inferior to 1.1v?? i have to downvolt an intel e2140 but i can't go under 1.1v of vcore.

i don't need other mods..only the cpu voltage and, if u can do this, the ability to select lower voltages in southbridge/chipset ! thanks guys for the help and sorry for my english

PS: here you can find the 1305 bios http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_S.../#download

Is that happening to all users? 181 people downloaded the last rom that was posted here. Does AHCI works on anyone else or everybody has the same problem?

Thank you so much for this ROM mod. I have now been able to successfully set up a 3TB Raid 1 Smile

Ok, has my hdds completely cleaned and new partitioned. Now no stuck on scanning AHCI Ports! Smile

It seems some bios react too sensible of mismatched HDD boot/mft informations.

This board is so popular! Just to confirm, the last update from Dansolo is stable for everyone?

Also, how is JMicron 1.07.28 newer than 1.08.01?

Question
Hi there,

New to the site. Hopefully not a stupid question! Smile

I have upgraded my old PC to:
- Bios 1305
- Changed to AHCI in the 3 settings in the BIOS
- Replaced hard drives to 2 OCZ Agility 3 drives. (Upgraded firmware to latest)
- Added 4Gb extra memory
- Changed to Windows 8 64-bit Pro
- Installed the latest Intel Rapid Storage drivers.

However, I periodically get issues with my PC rebooting itself. It gets a Windows 8 critical error (the blue screen with the sad face) and then reboots.
I am not sure if my hardware just does not support it.

What I want to ask is:
a) Can anyone see any problems with my configuration (details below)
b) What custom BIOS should I use on this site if it fixes any of these problems.
c) I can already see the ACHI and RAID options on my existing BIOS. What do the custom BIOSes give me?
d) Can anyone see why I am getting these problems - is it an ASUS motherboard issue or an SSD issue?

My machine after running for about a month with critical error reboots every now and then now constantly reboots so I can't reach the desktop.

Thanks.

Version 1305
Description
P5K-E/WiFi-AP BIOS 1305
1. Update JMB controller Option ROM.
File Size
1009.14 (KBytes)
2009/07/02 update

Basically, this is a really old machine I constructed 5 years ago using Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate.

I thought that over Xmas, I would upgrade the machine, so I bought:
- Windows 8 64-bit
- 4Gb more RAM taking it to 8Gb
- A new VTX3D AMD Radeon 7770 HD 1GB PCI-Express 3.0 HDMI X-Edition graphics card (thought that there might be graphics problems with an old graphics card on Windows 8)
http://www.dabs.com/products/best-value-...-893P.html
- 2 new OCZ AGT3-25SAT3-240G Agility 3 240GB SATA III 2.5 inch SSD hard drives
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004Z...UTF8&psc=1

Other older components retained:
- ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP AiLifestyle Series P35 Socket 775 Socket eSATA 8 channel Audio ATX Motherboard
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Energy Efficient 95W edition Socket 775 (2.40GHz) G0 Stepping L2 8MB Cache OEM Processor
- Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Kit CL5 1.9V
