Asus Rampage III formula incorrect DMAR tables

Hi there,

First let me say it is a wonderful thing that you do. My story is this... I run virtualisation on X58 chipsets to pass the graphics card through to the VM. I've done this successfully on several asus mobos, most recently the Rampage III gene so I thought it was a safe bet that I could set up a system based on the Rampage III Formula. This hasnt been the case however. After spending the better part of two weeks eliminating variables and wasting perfectly good hardware, operating systems, and time I now understand the problem is an incorrect DMAR table in the bios of this board. I've tried all the revisions of the bios but they all yeild the same result. I was wondering if using whatever sort of magic you use, you could look at the DMAR table of the Gene bios and make the Formula bios work like it does, or just fix whatever number is wrong in the Formula bios? I honestly have no idea what a DMAR table looks like or how complex a request this is, but I can tell you I would be over the moon if it is doable. I've already tried contacting Asus but that seems to be a dead end.

O.K. let's start the game. From what I've found out the DMAR bug sometimes is connected with IRQ and DSDT table bugs. But I didn't work with any of them. So let's start from you downloading R-W everything and posting here how does R-W everything read your DMAR ACPI table. I'll pull the according table from Gene BIOS and this'll be a first step. As I'm not a programmer.

What BIOS version are you using? And did you try the latest one? I'm looking at 0801 Formula BIOS and the table is definitely different from what you've posted.

Hmmm, well that is strange. I the bios is 0801 (that's what it says) I downloaded it from ASUS directly. I don't know what could cause the difference.

The problem is that what I see in the BIOS doesn't match to the report data. Can you download the BIOS for your Rampage 3 Formula ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/lga136...S-0801.zip and flash it again?

By the way, what you've seen above in your R-W everything report is exactly what the DMAR table looks like. And I have no idea how to find it in the BIOS - what I've found is only a part, the header.
