Bios recovery for DV9000 (9DV9035nr)
#1
Hello guys,

I am new at this website and I would like to know if some body can point me in the right direction. I believe I am not the only one asking for this but I have a Hp DV9000 (9DV9035nr) that after trying to update the Biios the computer never came back up again.
The computer was working fine with no problem but like I said after the Bios update, it just shows me a black screen. When I turn it on, I get 1 long beep and 2 short ones. constantly, it doesn't stop. I have been reading a lot and I believe I have tried it all.
Different versions of Crisis Recovery Disk.

Bought a USB floppy drive. and creating a disk.
Renaming the stock Bios file with BIOS.WPH.
removing the battery. and the AC power then plugging in the AC adapter whole holding win + B. It will start reading the disk but nothing happens.

The funny thing is that with other versions of Crisis recovery disk.
The computer will start reading the disk, but lets say that after like 2 minutes of reading the disk, the drive stops and the computer makes the same thing 1 long beep and 2 short ones. the only difference is that the first beep is not a high pitch noise like when you try to turn it on, this one sounds more like a f.a.r.t then the two short ones lol. I have been reading that, 1 long beep and 2 short ones is a video GPU failure but I don't think that is the case because the computer is giving me trouble after the bios update. Guys over the internet say that it is the GUP and others don't.

After three days of intensive search I came to this website and you guys a another Crisis Recovery disk tool with it did something different.

I used this tutorial.

http://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/p...-recovery/

Did exactly what is says in that tutorial . The computer starts reading the disk after a while the disk stops moving the the computer never turns off. it doesnt make any kind of noise. it just stays on. Waited for 5 minutes, unplugged the power, removed the floppy drive, turned it on and nothing. one long beep and two short ones.
did it again but left it on over night. tried it again this morning and nothing.

Can you guys tell me is there is anything else to do? or the bios upste just messed up my computer. shame on you HP.

Thank you .

From my HP post....
Re: DV9858ca won't boot after bios update, won't power with AC only turns on with battery.Options
We feel your pain, A simple bios upgrade turned our dv9858ca laptop into an expensive paper weight.

We went to the internet and tried many fixes. Internet helpers are amazing! Users writing up good solutions, we never would have succeeded without them.

We did the windows-B and phoenix crisis disk procedure, with multiple bios files times multiple bios loaders - No Joy

Here is the solution that worked for me.

After basically giving up, I remembered a computer tech saved a computer that wouldn't post by shorting the cmos battery connector. Its like taking a step beyond removing the CMOS battery instructions.

You remove laptop battery, disconnect the AC adapter, remove the CMOS battery, and then hold down the power button for 15sec.

Now you take a wire (I used a paper clip) to short (electrically connect) the CMOS battery terminals. This is a 100% sure way to drain the CMOS battery settings.

Reinstall CMOS battery and AC adapter and restart.

My computer rebooted, Bios screen displayed. I noticed f.53 was the bios that had been loaded.

Try shorting the CMOS battery 1st; that might have saved me from buying a USB floppy drive.
