still didn't work,

do i have to reinstall windows 7 ? because i've tried this before on inspiron 1520 and vostro 1400 after installing bios mod slic 2.1, and it worked without resintalling windows 7


but the Inspiron 1525 i have, does not have a windows license (purchased without windows), is this what's causing the problem ? does it has something to do with asset Tag of OEM ?

No a reinstall isnt required.

You possibly might have a "Hidden" 2.1 SLIC if this PC was shipped with Windows 7 but you didnt buy it with it.

Please post a screenshot of every tab of the below program (FLASH THE ORIGINAL UNMODDED BIOS BACK FIRST!)

I can confirm and post results, it works!

Dell_Inspiron_1525_A17.rar extracts 1525_A17_SLIC.EXE and DELL.XRM-MS I first ran the offical Dell 1525_A17.EXE to run A17, then ran 1525_A17_SLIC.EXE

It has SLIC 2.1 and works fine.

Hi. I have a mod bios with updated cpu microcodes. I extract rom file and patch it by hex editor. But how can i flash it? I try to use ubuntu linux and firmware-addon-dell and i try phoenix winflash. This tools does not flasn an original bios... and do not flash mod too.

How to put modified rom file in to exe file with flasher?
