Dell Inspiron 530 / 530s v1.0.2 Experimental Unlocking & Upgrading Project

Hi everyone!

I've recently flashed my mobo with "Xeon.bat" to upgrade my C2D E6750 to a Xeon E5450, after the flash process with the C2D in it all was working perfectly, with AHCI activated and an increase in RAM utilization (before flashing only was 2,7Gb useable, now I have all 4Gb), but unfortunately the mobo doesn't boot with the Xeon in it, it doesn't do anything, just keep the fans running at full speed. I try to reset bios using the jumpers before I change to Xeon but same result, any advice? Has anybody try this processor on this board?

My mobo is G33M02, RAM 2x2Gb @ 667MHz, and the splash screen is Not disabled.

EDIT: Xeon processor has been tested in other mobo and it works OK

mobo G33M02 does NOT support ANY QUAD CORE.
only G33M03 works with Quad Core (Including XEONs)

the difference between the two mobos (that looks the same) is only CPU POWER (Pins and Watts).

You can use Dual Core Xeon or C2D E8000 series on G33M02 mobo at best. 

I'm getting mixed infos as to whether or not the G33M02 board can run core 2 quad and xeon cpu's. How did you manage to make yours work DarioPR? I'm desperate to get my Dell Vostro 200 to run this X5450 cpu or q6600.

I have a Inspiron 530s and used this DellInspiron530-18-RAID87-IBA1363-AHCI120E0027-VGA1653.zip and my mobo is working like a charm, with new options unlocked, ready for install Mac OSX. Installed iATKOS_L2 (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2) all all is OK.

Do you happen to have this bios file saved somewhere. The link in the OP doesn't seem to work anymore and I want to flash my inspiron 530 with the G33M02 board.

So I flashed the moded 1.0.18 BIOS and i can't seem to run my intel core 2 Quad Q6600 chip in it. I'm not sure if it's because i did the BSEL mod to the cpu but it won't post. I will try later by undoing the BSEL mod from the cpu. I even tried to x5450 coversion 771-775 and same thing. Is it definite that this G33M02 board can't run xeon quad core cpu?

I am pretty sure G33M02 boards do not support Xeon's...not enough voltage regulators.

How did you manage to run the E5450 on your board? My boards are already modded and all i need to know is what steps did you take? Because I removed CMOS battery, cleared CMOS and still not working on dell Vostro 200 nor my Dell inspiron 530 MT machine.

My board is G33M03 and NOT G33M02.
That is why my Xeon works.
G33M02 DOES NOT SUPPORT ANY QUAD CORE XEON's OR CORE 2 QUAD CPU's (sorry to break it you).

I tried to flash the Xeon mod bios, but keep getting error message "OnBoard BIOS Not Award BIOS!". I have a 530 with Q8200. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

So does the DellInspiron530-18-RAID87-IBA1363-AHCI120E0027-VGA1653 zip work with the 530s with Bios version 1.18?

Just upgraded an Inspiron 530 with Foxconn DG33M03 to a Xeon 5450 SLBBM and was wondering how much performance the last few CPU abilities will give for DirectX 10 gaming? The rig runs great with the 1.0.18 bios and an HD 5850. How easy/safe is it to introduce the microcodes to give SSE4.1 etc? and will this give me higher frame rates? Because it uses an Award bios, like the first post from this thread says, can I just follow the Award bios mod advice from delidded?

Nevermind. I researched and found a away to add SLIC2.1 to the unlocked Dell 530 bios 18.
I took the ROM file from two posts back, got the DELL SLIC bin & matching certificates and used the Award tool to make the new BIOS.
Bios boots comes up fine and boots all OS's I have.

Used SLIC Tool kit v3.2 to verify the SLIC version and it confirms 2.1.

Not yet tested on installing Win 7 yet.

Update: Installed Dell's Win 7 OEM. All fine. Then, Updated to Win 10 and it auto activated. Again, All fine and works well on the ageing system.

I have been reading a lot about this computer or a motherboard. But i want to know if definetly we can't overclock, using the BIOS or via Software. I have an old Inspiron 530 with Intel Pentium Dual Core.

If there is a way to overclock, please tell me. Thanks.

Finally flashed the mod bios under DOS. E5450 ordered from ebay is on its way. Hope everything will go well. Will report back when I receive it.
