Dell Optiplex 990 - Slic 2.3 Request

W25Q16BV ID:0xEF4015 Size: 2048KB

I get the message "Error 104: the 2 SPI flash devices do not have compatible command sets"

Fixed Fparts, run flash.bat again

Awesome, it now gets past the last error but now I am getting "Error 280: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space!"

Oh dear.

I think your BIOS has write protection.

AFAIK the only way to flash bios is to use external spi programmer!

I asked to Serg008 about this issue and He cannot repack It too !
So only an HW SPI Programmer can do the job !

P.S. Original Bios has into the Slic 2.1 but It not known the SLP method to unlock It.

I tried the Pheonix Tool and the only way I can successfully get a slic in it is to do "Module", but this actually adds a second SLIC to the BIOS so I end up with a SLIC v2.1 and v2.3. This does not work when I try to activate an OS that needs the 2.3 SLIC.

Can you guys tell me what I am doing wrong and why I cant replace the existing v2.1 SLIC with a 2.3?

That BIOS in your link contains 2 SLICs. A v2.1 and a v2.3 and Server 2012 will not activate. I tried the Pheonix tool and got similar results as you. I can add another SLIC but I cannot replace the one that is there. Do you know how to do this?
