Bug
when i flashed my bios with the 2nd file, it worked perfectly and i enabled ahci. everytime i restart my computer, it says cmos checksum error and everything goes back to defaults! why does that happen? this is why i reverted back to stock bios.

I have a vostro 200 in which I would like to configure RAID0 as I have two seagate drives of the same model. I have downloaded this file:

Vostro200-1016-RAID87-AHCI120E-VGA1653-IBA1363.bin
(third version)

I believe after sorting through a number of threads, this will allow me to run raid 0 on my vostro 200? Can anyone confirm?

My next question is how do I flash the bios with this bin file, any help is appreciated. Thanks

You can use either awdflash DOS tool with switches listed in previous pages or Winflash to flash from Windows. I've used the 2nd one, founding it much easier, but that's a personal choice.

For Winflash, I open up a DOS prompt window, move to the directory containing the extracted archive and type:
winflash "New BIOS filename".bin

This will launch the Winflash tool and all that's required is to click on 'Update' button. The new BIOS is then flashed in.

I've used the second bios in the post. By the way it will make hackintosh work with enabling of ahci. Also added dell slic 2.1 to bios. see attached

Flashed with awdflash bios.bin /cc /cd /cp /py /wb /sn /E

make sure you have backed up your prev bios in case it doesn't work.

Where can I find awdflash for win 7 64 bit?

Second bios works fine for my dell vostro 200st and with ahci mode increases performance versus raid mode in original bios

Quicker boottime (i have a ssd ocz vertex 2)
