[Freebie Guide]How get unlocked hidden settings for Lenovo laptops 2011-2013 with H20
#1
Hello!
This guide may help users manually get modified bios for lenovo laptops between 2011 and 2013 years old with Insyde H20 bios.
Users who want get freebie mods, they must carefully read instruction before making changes.
As result, you not need wait until modders will complete your request, you not need donate them for work.
So let's begin.
1.Run this tool as Admin
https://www.sendspace.com/file/x64ra8
and go to results.rar
Note.This tool not works on win10 shell.
2.Unpack results.rar and find file with *.bin extension.
This file may contain x64 in name.
3.Download Andy's phoenixtool 2.66 ver and open *.bin file using that tool.
4.You can see in Log window decapsulated and unpacked modules from bios image.
5.Go to DUMP folder and create List type in view folder.
Choose ascend and you can find this file "FE354FE..ROM" (it has size more than 500 KB)
6.Copy this file to folder differ from DUMP.
7.Download any hex editor, i use HxD,it is free.
8.Open FE354FE..ROM with hex editor and search for these magic bytes which Dudu2002 aka Oleh use.
-"7C A6" for Lenovo Y50-70,S400,Yoga 2-13,G400s,G580,G780,G480 and etc.
-"78 7D" for Lenovo G500, G410,G510,B50-70,Z500 and etc.
-"74 5F" for Lenovo Z50-70,Lenovo Yoga 2 (76CN**WW versions),Lenovo Flex 2-15 and etc.
If you found one of these magic bytes, make following changes to complete unlocking process.
1)7C A6->7C 00;74 94->74 00;74 8C->74 00;74 86->74 00;74 80->74 00.
2)78 7D->78 00;74 6E->74 00;74 65->74 00;74 5F->74 00;74 59->74 00.
3)74 5F->74 00;74 55->74 00;74 4F->74 00.
Warning!Be sure that these magic bytes located near neighbor another magic bytes.One of these three chains must be located in two-three strings, no more.
9.Choose "Lenovo" brand in Manufacturer window of Phoenix tool.
[Image: 768f7b5fd4c8f335924121f8560ff66b.jpg]
Press "Advanced" button at end of Andy's tool, ignore waring message and press "OK"
10.Mark next checkboxes in Control Options to continue process:
"No Slic", "Allow user to modify another modules","Allow user modification of modules".
Press "Done" to continue
[Image: 09bdae2581b66810224fb5ffbf9e1389.jpg]
11.Now you have first window and may press "Go" button
12.Wait until "You can now make manual alterations..". dont press Ok, just copy modified FE354..ROM to DUMP folder and confirm overwrite.

13.Now you can press OK and wait until tool will complete new modded bios.
14.Enjoy!
Modder Oleh aka Dudu2002 knows only these magic bytes no more.He cannot unlock hidden settings for Acer, Sony,HP, Toshiba, Dell and other Lenovo because he's modding level is too low.
If these magis bytes can not be found, it means you have old or new Lenovo laptop.
Owners of new Lenovo laptops must have SPI PGM+Pomona SOIC8 clip to flash mod.

BDMaster :

There are a bunch of bytes like these, but the main thing is that they should be in the neighborhood.

So it means you did not find magic bytes (if the specified chains are in your BIOS at all).

Also, it seems that you have already get the mod for your Z500. Send the FE3542... file in PM if you want me to take a look at it.

Hi there,

Thank you for writing up this guide.

I would like to unlock the bios of a Lenovo Y50-70, would i have to install Windows 7 on the machine to run the x64ra8 file ? Or any other recommended workarounds ? Thanks

I have the same doubt. there're many magic bytes but those aren't next to them. They are in different rows.
How can I know what of all the bytes I need to edit?
