Fujitsu Esprimo P5710 - unlock [REQUEST]
#11
What's even sadder it's that all the settings i wanted are actually there, Fujitsu put them there and then hid them.

So close yet so far.

One more idea I have is to try searching for phoenix bios updates in size of 512k. But not in the .ocf format.

Already combed the internet for that.
Seems to be only on Fujitsu support site, for this model. Sad

Hi Max. I managed to make a bios backup with Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0.
Is this of any use? Can't open it on PBE, though.

Thanks.

No use, sorry.

Ok Max. Last try (i guess)

I fooled winphlash in believing i had .rom file to update, i used a rom from another fujitsu machine i found here on the forum, on the thread i mentioned before. Then it made a backup of my bios to a file named bios1.bak

The resulting file has a 2 mb size though, instead of 512k.

This one has the needed data and it's incorrect.
The data contains wrong parameters for flash memory. 32X64K, 512X4K, 32X64K and 2048X1K. Each one is for different chip.

I think winphalsh can't generate it, but winphlash rather copies it from from the provided 2 MB rom file. Maybe we could edit the data and then try flashing. But it requires to know markings of the SPI chip installed.
You may also test flashrom utility.

I see. I fed winphlash a 2mb file so it produced another 2mb one...
I'm trying to find a rom file from the same era with 512k but no success so far. Still looking.
Would it help if i identified the exact rom chip model?

Do you happen to have a compiled version of the flashrom utility for or windows/dos?

Thank you.

As we found out winphlash doesn't generate the needed data, I think you don't need to keep searching anymore.

Yes. It'd give an info which parameters should be written in flash parts. Don't know yet which things are required in addition to this.

Direct download for DOS version.

Hi again Max.

Flashrom returns "No EEPROM/flash device found." . Running it on pure DOS from a bootable USB made with RUFUS.

Rom chip is a SST25LF040A 33-4C-S2AE.

Datasheet:

Thanks.
