GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.6 for 3TB drives
#51
Engmus, I looked at your attachment and it looks like the NCPUCODE was modified already for the XEONs but lacked some older LGA775 support which I included.

Check the attachment about two posts earlier.
Its a modified FFb bios for GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.6 with the following updates:

ICH10R southbridge - v12902006 with the TRIM mod
RTL8111C ethernet - rtegrom260.lom
SATA2 chip - jmb362_C_1.07.05
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P
Updated NCPUCODE

My apologies akira_xd. I did not realize you were referring to the rev1.0 MB revision when you made the request.

The Gigabyte web site no longer has the F11d revision but I found a copy in an earlier thread here in BIOS-Mods.

The changes made in the attached for a GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.0 F11d bios are:

ICH10R southbridge - v12902006 with the TRIM mod
RTL8111C ethernet - rtegrom260.lom
SATA2 chip - jmb362_C_1.07.05
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P
Updated NCPUCODE

With regards to the DDR2 RAM, have you tried underclocking the FSB as a troubleshooting tool? In addition, how's the +1.5V voltage reading in the bios or in a tool like speedfan or AIDA64? The MB filtering from the solid capacitors will remain reliable for years but your power supply may be getting marginal and cause what may appear like a MB problem.

Ok i flashed the new bios, i had some random hangs at first so i reloaded optimal settings and did minimal adjustments, so far everything seems to be fine.
I did notice that the older sata rom that displays the detection of disks fails to find my disks sometimes, the newer ones didn't have that issue
The other rom is fine (the one that displays only the results in color and asks you to press a button)

My voltage readings seem to be correct in bios and underclocking FBS didnt do anything. What i totally forgot though is that i have 2x4gb and 2x2gb, i guess the board doesn't like mixed ram sizes.

I have the GA-EP45-UDP3 rev 1.6

I just bought a 3TB internal HD for storage space. Windows is only detecting the drive as 750GB.

I have never updated my bios or anything. CPU-Z reports that my bios version is FD 11/23/2009

Will I be able to use this 3TB drive with this machine?

Yes. This updated bios will allow the full 3TB to be seen. The FFb version appears to work with SSDs best. If you get any windows BSODs, try the FE version also located in this forum.

I currently have a GA-EP45-UD3P rev1.6 MB running the stock FFb BIOS with SLIC 2.1 support.

I am currently running a pair of SSD's in a RAID 0 under Windows 7. I am wondering if it's possible to use a modded BIOS to enable TRIM support on my RAID without losing the SLIC 2.1 support. Does such a BIOS mod exist?

Thanks, in advance, for supporting this somewhat old motherboard!

There is supposedly a modified RST ROM that allows TRIM for older chipsets. I have not verified it since I do not have SSDs (yet). No one has indicated a problem with it. Attached is the following.

ICH10R southbridge - v12902006 with the TRIM mod
RTL8111C ethernet - rtegrom260.lom
SATA2 chip - j1.07.24
ICHAACHI 1.2 original from a EP45-USB3P
Updated NCPUCODE

Gigabyte SLIC added

You did not indicate which SLIC you have so I have not added it.
Thanks so much for the response. Sorry for not indicating the SLICK type, but it's a Gigbyte 2.1 SLIC. (Attached below)

.bin   GBT[GBTUACPI]2.1-0BB1980D.BIN (Size: 374 bytes / Downloads: 7)
MD5: 8590c69ba4f43f96645738f22a1a90c0

Would you be willing to add it for me? Blush

Also, should I experience problems, would I be able to revert by simply reflashing my current BIOS? Thanks, again, in advance.

EDIT: One more thing... Should I use latest RST Drivers (v13.1.0.1058) or use the version (v12.9.0.1001) that matches the BIOS?

Gigabyte SLIC added. See earlier posting for the update.

Yes, reverting is as easy as reflashing with the original bios.
Use the RST version (v12.9.0.1001). The 13 series has given some trouble with the older chipsets, myself included, even if the bios has a 13 series OROM.
