Looks like the same as before. The option to change (or rather decrease) the multiplier is there, but no option for the FSB frequency exists. Thank you for your work, though.

Well then it seems a if the FSB option simply isn't a hidden feature.

Is the R01 B0 Newer than the R01 A4? What's different between the 2? I Cant remember what the worthless garbage was that gateway sent this thing out with but I flashed it with the R01 A4 and it seems much better now. For some reason this newer one doesn't seem to be listed on the gateway website. I just joined the site as i spotted this thread and wondered if anyone had firgured anything out as far as coming up with some bios options. haha looks like a no. Still curious about B0 what gives?

Curious how did you find this bios when i punch in my s/no on gateway website i just get the a4 upgrade. I'll tell you what this computer has been a freakin nightmare. I feel sorry for the poor soul who isn't very computer savvy that bought this thing expecting it to be half as great as it sounded. Thanks Gateway I'll remember you when dispensing rocks this Christmas season. The only thing worse than the computer is the impeccable service. ::Bangs head on wall::

Hello,
Still wondering where you came up with the B0 upgrade. I want to be sure that it is for the 6800-01e. I don't understand why when i punch in my serial number it only shows me the A4 upgrade. How did you come across the B0 Bios? Appreciate any assistance.

Is it normal to get a checksum error after post right after you flash. When I restart after running afuwin It starts shutting down but doesnt actually restart it just shuts down and the hard drive never stops doing things. So I hold power button and then start it up again and it posts and says checksum error press f1 to load optimized defaults or press something else to open something or other.

I think this is normal if it only does it once , after the bios upgrade its recommeded to reset to optimized defaults. If it does it every time you boot up , the mods unstable and please tell us so we can remove it

Oh yeah I see now I reflashed to told it to load defaults in the flash utility and no more checksum. Hmm What is the difference between the one you uploaded and the gateway version. Maybe I just failed to spot it but it seemed the same. Thank you for the help by the way As well as your work.
Ha okay another update I just realized the B0 update from gateway has the multiplier locked at 12x so my 2.6 ghz processor just got retarded to 1.6 ghz. Gonna flash your modded bios and check it out. What a mess maybe A4 was what i should stuck with. Funny stuff

Alright now i've tried both the new Gateway B0 and the modded one from 1234 and they both seem to have locked multiplier at 12x. If anyone has had different results feel free to correct me but i flashed back to the A4 and it is back to normal So if you have the A4 I would recommend sticking with it and avoid gateway at all stakes after that. They are a bunch of funny guys if you know what I mean. They told me to flash with a floppy disc and then sent me the zip file with the flash utility in it haha. Our computer doesn't have a floppy drive. But seriously if you had different results let me know I am kinda interested now. to see if it worked for anyone I just ran cpuz and noticed it was running at 1.59ghz 133mhz at 12x and went back into bios and there no options to change multiplier.
