It didn't work out.
After the start there is only a blank screen.
After 5 seconds the cooler accelerate to maximum speed.
BioS reset didn't help

I'm going to take the Bios chip off and flash it with dump ver 1.16.

I took a PC with BIOS 1.08 and microcodes 1.27
1. BioS update to 1.09
2. Microcode update from 1.27 to 1.27 again
3. Replace the processor with Xeon
PC can boot normal.

4. Replacing the processor with C2D
5. Bios update to 1.11
6. Microcode update from 1.27 to 1.27 again
7. Replace the processor with Xeon
PC can't boot

So it's not microcode problem.

So.
On the DC7900 boards, Xeon runs only on firmware 1.08 and 1.09
To these versions you can roll back from firmware 1.11-1.16

If you have a newer version, you need to use a hardware programmer (CH341) and a BIOS bin file from hp website.
After that, you'll need 2 utilities to write DMI information and MAC address on the network card:
HP-DMI-Toolkit 1.32
And mac (v2.0.18D) .zip from asROCK website

Hello, can you help me please to install my x3363 in DC7900sff?
I do all steps what you do, but its not run. Where do you take Microcode update 1.27? Becouse i see only 1.23 ver.
I`ve install BIOS 1.08 and update Microcode to 1.01. When im trying to update to modifying microcode U7F_0123.BIN witch renammed to U7G_0123.BIN it do nothing . still write 1.01ver
