Hi, it failed on my DV7t-6b00 CTO Quad laptop. The program started and then rebooted the laptop and proceeded to enter the "Bios upgrade" screen but then comes back with "The bios failed to upgrade". I tried running the upgrade within windows 3 times and the results were the same, Insydeflash program comes up, reboots to the bios update screen, fails, then reboots.... at this point I had nothing to loose so I decided to see if I could use the Killer N 1102 card but when I boot up the laptop it gives me a black screen that says:
"Wireless Module not Supported
The sytem has detected a Wireless module intalled in the system is not
supported. System halted. Please remove device and restart.
WLAN Module ID (702)

Hi, I don't have a "HP_TOOLS" partition....what I have is an OS drive (CSmile, an extra data drive (DSmile and a "Recovery" partition (ESmile.
I tried renamed the OS (CSmile drive to "HP_TOOLS" and tried running your BIOS file, the results are the same as before.
I renamed the RECOVERY (ESmile partition to "HP_TOOLS" and ran your BIOS File, still the same failed results.
I changed everything back and tried running HP's sp54846 BIOS file and it updates just fine, so it seems to me that something is missing with the modified file that makes it fail.
Out of curiosity, I opened HP's sp54846 with WinRAR to check out the files. I also downloaded ezh2o2 figuring I would be able to view the bios file but there were no .FD files to view.
I also tried grabbing the 017FC.Bin file and inserted that into the Modified bios folder location and tried running the update with your file, no such luck, it came back with a “The Bios image is corrupted or does not contain the correct digital signature. The system BIOS will not be updated”

sorry, looks like the post converted my (C : ) into (CSmile
Not sure if this helps but....... with the HP BIOS update, it unpacks and creates a SP54846 folder in the "Program files (x86) " location....

NO! NO! NO! What Camilo was telling you is IF you had a partition named "HP_TOOLS" to rename it to something else like "OLDHP_TOOLS". Not rename existing partitions to "HP_TOOLS".

Yea, I got that......I do not have a HP_TOOLS partition......it seemed silly in the first place to rename a partition but there is no harm in renaming them to what ever you like...... figure I would try everything posible.

Going by the book here:

Whitelist removal of Wireless network list

Current BIOS Insyde F.02
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...3&sw_lang=

I do believe it is RSA Signed based on the 017.Bin filename.

If it helps any, the below information is the factory configuration I received when I bought it back in November 2011.

HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition | Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit | Intel i7-2820QM 2.3GH 8MB L3 | Radeon 6770 w/ 2GB RAM | 8GB DDR3 RAM (2 Dimm) | 1.5TB – 2x 750GB 5400 rpm HDD | 17.3" Full HD BrightView Infinity LED (1920x1080) | Blu-ray writer & SuperMulti DVD burner | Intel 802.11 b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth | HD Webcam and FingerPrint Reader

My apologies in advance for any overkill information; I’m super exhausted with searching through Google, reading multiple posts, downloading files, etc. etc. so I’ll GLADLY contribute if this issue is corrected.

If it can't be removed then I will have a Wireless N1102 card for sale.....and a HP DV7 laptop..
