HP DX2250

Could you help us with this bios , i am not sure if its award or phoniex everset give this.

Motherboard:
CPU Type DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2600 MHz (13 x 200) 5000+
Motherboard Name HP Compaq dx2250
Motherboard Chipset ATI Radeon Xpress 200/1100/1150, AMD
System Memory 2048 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)
BIOS Type Award (08/11/08)

but it also shows this . Confused

DMI:
DMI BIOS Vendor Phoenix Technologies, LTD
DMI BIOS Version MS7297 1.12
DMI System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
DMI System Product HP Compaq dx2250 Microtower
DMI System Version

DMI System UUID 80D9680B-71DB1210-B3C3B8A0-C9C7C931
DMI Motherboard Manufacturer MSI
DMI Motherboard Product 0A7

the only reason for the unlock is to get virtulization enabled and yes the chip does support it, but the bios has no setting for it.

the firmware can be located here :

V2.3 is not the correct version of the bios as HP states...they are wrong on this one....v1.12A is the correct version of the bios.

Hi ALL
Mod above rendered my dx2250 motherboard unusable!!!
No Not use it. There was also another user on this forum that had same failure as me (Post error "CMOS Checksum failure" and after F1 or F10 only black screen).

BIOS starts and detects CPU, memories and Disks. So automatic boot-flash recovery process is not available. HP didn't have any document how to force running of recovery process.

Hello guys, im new to the forum... and i stumbled across the bios flash files.
I have already upgraded the flash to the 1st one which 1234s282 posted.

What i am looking to do is change the bios picture to a logo?

something like [Image: logo_alfaromeo.jpg]
on a black background... is this something easily achievable?

The reason for this is that i will be using it as a car computer.. and the hp splash screen is not really an oem look i was after Smile

Please tell me you still have this? I clicked the link and it's no longer available. Or could you please guide me to the right version of Winflash ? I am in definite need to unlock my bios. The modded bios was still available but not your link. If you even remember this, and if you get time to do so, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if it's possible to recover from this situation? I've just flashed my dx2250, and the same thing has happened.

Is the mainboard totally fried?

Thanks ...

Seems not. I chucked the box in a corner, powered it up and hit F10.

Ten mins later, it booted, so reflashed with the BIOS update from HP, and all is back again. The 2250 was used as a print server anyway, so no great loss if I had chucked it in the sea.

However - DO NOT USE the modified one above - unless you want issues or have time on your hands.

Does anyone still have this modded BIOS? I have a few old boards to play with. Failing that, could it be unlocked again? I can save the BIOS file if needed (v1.12).
