#21
Quote:That is correct , by overwriting the file it extracts with the one from the first post of this thread it will flash the modded one and hopefully allow your card!

Best of luck , try it at your own risk though!

Hello everybody !!

My laptop is an HP TM 2 1010ea (the tablet one). I installed on it OSX Snow Leopard which is compatible 90% whith this laptop - the only problem is the wireless.

So I want to change the BROADCOM BCM 943225HM wifi card with Dell 1510 Broadcom 94322 which is accepted by Apple OSX.

The link for download the BIOS (F 09A) Insyde is here.
or
here.

Now the questions:
Is it possible to remove the whitelist from this BIOS to accept another wifi cards(like Dell 1510 Broadcom 94322)?

PS: 1) I will try on my own risk the new moded bios resulted, in this way other peoples will use with "zero risk" on this model of laptop.
2) I will donate £10 (British Pounds) for who is modding this BIOS(remove the whitelist to accept any wifi card)

THANKS A LOT, and I am here for more details if you needed.

This are the details for the BROADCOM WIFI CARD which is coming with the laptop:

collected from Windows 7 64 bit Device Manager(Hardware Ids)

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&CC_0280

or Windows 7 64 bit Device Manager(Device Instance Path)
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4357&SUBSYS_145E103C&REV_01\4&16E752D8&0&00E1

How is it possible to know the VEN,DEV, SUBSYS for the new one(Dell 1510 Broadcom 94322)???

to find the ID's for the new card

1. Remove existing wireless card from laptop, leave the access cover off.
2. Boot laptop and enter boot selection screen.
3. Install new card (whilst laptop is running), no need connect antenna wires.
4. Boot into windows and new card will appear as unknown device.
5. Now you can obtain exact ven, dev & subsys id's from device properties

Unfortunately the bios you posted cannot have its whitelist removed but if you can get us the ID's for the new card then we can try and replace the IDs for it to work

Thank you so much for answer me.

The only thing is that I bought yesterday from Ebay the new card(Dell 1510 Broadcom 94322) so I will have it tommorow .

Anyway I found this info regarding Dell 1510 BCM94322 on internet:

The device ID string for the Broadcom BCM4322 802 11a b g n Wireless LAN Controller Wireless 1510 Wireless N WLAN Mini Card is:

PCI\VEN_14e4& DEV_432b& SUBSYS_1028000d& .....
at this adress.

What you reckon? Actually this info( ven, dev & subsys id's) are the same for each laptop if inside is the same wifi card?

Thanks again!

Thanks, for letting me know. Tomorrow as soon is possible I will post the details for the new card.
In the meantime I will try to create an usb recovery to have it just in case the things are going wrong.

Here is a method for completely removing the WLAN/WWAN whitelists check on this HP TM 2 1010ea:
for free.

Prerequisites:
- An hexadecimal editor like HxD
- MDL Andy's tool Latest version

1- Extract sp49449.exe, then extract WinFlash.exe
2- Open 3661F09.fd with Andy's tool
3- Once decompress, select "other" in manufacturer
4- At advanced choose: 'no SLIC' and 'Allow user to modify other modules' press done
5- Press GO and wait until the tool pauses and show popup (Don't press OK at this time).
6- In DUMP folder, edit the module 2D7F5042-32FE-4666-A04F-48AF6853D175_2_679.ROM, search the hexadecimal string 0F 85 81 00 00 00 and replace 0F 85 by 90 E9,save the modification.
7- In DUMP folder, edit the module 7FA4AE0A-1404-4DCC-BE28-CE58029CF5D1_2_674.ROM, search the hexadecimal string 0F 85 81 00 00 00 and replace 0F 85 by 90 E9,save the modification.
8- Press OK on Andy's tool popup
The Andy's tool will notice about changes that were made and will reintegrate the module.

9- replace 3661F09.fd by the newly created 3661F09_SLIC.bin (rename it 3661F09.fd)
10- Flash using InsydeFlash.exe

et voila
edit1: for others machines the name of the module and the string to replace can be different.
regards
