HP Disabled Whitelist Mega Thread!

(12-01-2010, 03:15 PM)droz Wrote: Hello,

I am having issues enabling a USB BT dongle on the WWAN port of my little HP Mini 110-3000ca. The Mini PCIe connector is not populated on this machine so I decided to use the USB on this connector to internalize the dongle. It is giving me the "105-Unsupported wireless broadband device detected" error. I would appreciate it if anyone would be willing to help by removing the whitelist to enable any USB devices on the WWAN connector.

The Insyde bios is located here:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50001-50500/sp50147.exe
Version:F.13 F

Thanks in advance

Hang on a minute , your using the WWAN MiniPciE slot to run a USB Adapter? How did you manage that?

Mini PCIe pins 36 and 38 are USB data -/+. I was able to solder to these pads since there is no connector populated. Power on the mini PCIe is only 1.5V / 3.3V so I bypassed the 3.3V regulator on the dongle. Only this whitelisting issue stands in the way.

I have been searching for info on modifying the Insyde BIOS, but the tools I have found online do not seem compatible with this 0148A.fd file.

on my first mobo it didnt worked and briqued the laptop.

received another mobo, replaced the old one, retried the flash this time in dos, and it froze again durring the flash. this one is also briqued now.

on the last mobo i tried alot of flash recovery and nothing worked.

Sorry! Mod Removed

Well I fixed my bios chip soldering a socket and programming it on a willem. I tried the modded bios twice with the programmer and no dice. stock F54 works nicely.

Since I have the hardware now to recover from any bios crash, can you take a look at it again?

thanks

can you give the complete PCI ID of your existing WIFI card.
That's make job easier to find the whitelist place.

Hello all!

I was wondering if you could please remove whitelist from HP/Phoenix bios version F.3b or F.34, either or, doesn't matter...for an HP Pavillion DV2415US.

F.34: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36219.exe

F.3b: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39001-39500/sp39371.exe

The ID's of the old card are:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4222&SUBSYS_135B103C&REV_02
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4222&SUBSYS_135B103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4222&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_4222&CC_0280

Please, I would really like to get this to work. Thanks in advance!!

Just tried it and it work like a champs for the whitelist removal. I use a legit W7 so I didnt tested out the SLIC mod, but I expect it will work Smile

Nicely done

Has anyone ever modded a bios for the HP DM4? I don't care which bios version it is, just so long as I can upgrade the WLAN in it.
