but then with this board there is no balance between RAM and CPU .. ?? or choose one thing, or the other, but not both. True?

I have an E5800 justly. 3.20 Ghz / 800 Mhz and 6gb of ram. with the possibility of uploading to 8GB of ram if I get a compatible memory.

But at home trying to place a better processor would have to be one of a bus over 800, then there would be limited to a maximum of 4GB of ram ???

As I mention use translator, if I'm not understanding well, that's why I ask.

On the other hand that another processor believe that I can supplant mine without sacrificing the ram.

A xeon e5472 will work with this bios?

E0 stepping SLBBJ E5440 Xeon Windows 10 install is working for me on this bios. Had the E5440 already, or would have bought an E5450.
C0 stepping SLANJ X5260 Xeon would post but fail to load or install Windows 10 x64. <<EDIT>> My mistake, the C0 X5260 may have been tested before the bios was updated.

Try the newer E0 stepping Xeon cpus if you are having trouble.
Don't forget to use low density ram with 266 or 333 FSB processors, (running ok on the 2G + 2G maximum for 333 MHz chips).

Thanks for putting up this bios. Did a good cheap upgrade for a friend who brought over a pair of HP500B computers.

E0 stepping 5440 works ok with this bios, so an E0 5450 will be fine. C0 stepping E5440 might work, <<EDIT>> The C0 stepping E5440 works fine too. Just installed one in my friend's 2nd machine.

Hi. I have moded latest BIOS 5.13 for HP CompaQ MB 500 with Slic and added support for 45 nm Xenon. 
Procedure:
1. Download attached .zip and extract
2. Lauch AFUWin for 32 bit or 64 bit Windows
3. Press Open and load modded BIOS
4. Press flash
5. After flash turn off PC and change CPU

Works great 

For me modded BIOS from first post dont works. Download and renamed BIOS to  AMIBOOT.ROM and attached to front USB dont works . I will try load from rear USB. When i try flash BIOS from Windows with AFUWin dont works - some missmatch.

Ho gyus. I need help. My PC flashed with stock 6.10 BIOS . After flash all FANs is set to 100 %. I cant enter BIOS , my BIOS is write protect. I think i have flashed Bootblock http://pcproblemswithsolutions.blogspot....-chip.html but mainboard dont have any jumper. Latest BIOS set BIOS to write protect. Any help or good idea? Try flash AFUDOS but nothing helps.
Pleas dont update to 6.10 you cant downgrade

hello friends ... I have four pieces of hp 500b mt and I've tried every method of stock 6.05 and 6.10 bios trying to plug in xeon 5450 ..

6.10 real bios u 771 microcode I'm trying to install it does not accept it .. please help please

solved the problem !!


note: I couldn't install a bios on the computers with 6.10 or over the windows.
also lower level does not allow the installation of the original bios 6.10 bios installed hp 500b mt on your device
I guess it will stay that way..

6.10 bios installed I could not intervene ... but 6.05 installed on the windows without any problems I have installed the bios of the windows .. original 6.05 i exe from the mmtools for  771 microcode I have added and installed with the hp bios installer

direct windows installer  2010  771 micro code ok..   hp 500B MT xeon e5450 its works !!!

Just wondering if this bios would help me. I have the same MB with 6.10 bios with E8500 cpu and 1333MHz ram that only runs at 1066MHz. Reset and reflashed ver.6.10 with no change.
