HP Mini 1154NR Whitelist Removal Request
#1
Sorry for the double post... I was not sure i posted in the correct section.

But is it possible to have the BIOS Modded (whitelist removed) for a HP Mini 1154nr.

I have tried some tutorials but I cannot seem to accomplish this.

Here is the link to the BIOS on the HP site

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=4030691&

WinXP (FW ver. is 1.6f)
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...1&sw_lang=

Linux (FW ver. is 1.3???)
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softw...1&sw_lang=

Thank You very much!!!

do you want to flash it from windows or from DOS?

Either way is fine with me. The system is currently using Windows XP.

The factory flash utility is windows based so that should be fine.

Thank You!

It seems like it worked..
The logo is now the Compaq logo and on the splash screen it now says Serial number not found at the top.

Booting into windows i got a BSOD but i think thats because windows is trying to install the driver for it..

the stop error is..

Well I cannot seem to get the WLAN card to work.

After reinstalling windows the device manager sees the card. Then i install the driver for the device and then it says "The Device is disabled. (Code 22)"

What should i do about this?

Is this a IRQ conflict?

UPDATE1:
I started to look in the BIOS and there is no place where i can assign resources.

no idea of this hardware issue,
have you made a "reset to factory" during bios setup, that may be a good beginning.

does the wireless button/led on/off works for both wlan cards, new one, old one, note any differences.

i would like to go deeply in the code, can you give the PCI ID of the old (official) wlan card

something like: VEN_xxxx&DEV_xxxx&SUBSYS_xxxxxxxx

I ended up getting it to work.

I reflashed the BIOS with your modified BIOS and i check all the options in the BIOS flashing utility. After that i did a Factory Reset of the BIOS. Loaded the drivers and now its all working!

The only things that i notice that are still different is that the Splash screen show the Compaq logo and not the HP logo. And that at the top of the POST screen it says "Serial Number Not Found"

Thank You for all your hard work on this!

hello,
generally a factory reset is enough,
as i don't know what options you've choose during second bios flashing i cannot explain these differences,
With a HP DMI tool you can change model, serial number and other informations, have a look HERE to download the toolkit.
