HP Proliant Microserver AMI BIOS MOD

I cannot install Windows 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019 Server, even with newest modded BIOS. What is more wrong - even under setup of Windows 2008 R2 I cannot see any disk during advanced installation.

I have N40L and 1TB WD Blue SSD connected in 1st Bay position. I've set this drive type set as Raid-Ready in RAID menu (CTRL+F during POST) .

What about your BIOS settings that you successed in installation of Windows 2016 Server ?

Everytime I try to install I have message that setup cannot find any drive. When I switch in BIOS to AHCI - it is visible during this setup (even with onmoded, original HP BIOS '2013). I was adding via "add driver" almost every driver from AMD and HP site... For Example: AMD RAID Console driver, AMD AHCI RAID Driver, and so on... And nothing Sad

Is it possible to install this server at RAID-drive at all ? Anybody ?

If you choose "Load Optimal Defaults" from BIOS it will enable on defaults some improvements:
  • Hot Swap HDD
  • SATA II (3.0GBps on all SATA ports)
  • ACPI v3.0

Enjoy!

Hello.

I can't make a boot-stick.
HPQUSB.exe says: "device media is write protected"

There is no write protection.
No software write protection either.

I should replace the .rom in the zip with the single .rom?

For those interested, the port multiplier on the e-sata port runs flawlessly on TrueNAS Core TrueNAS-12.0-U8, with the kamzata BIOS mod available here.

Log from my TrueNAS instance:

    Mar 17 20:40:38 truenas pmp0 at ahcich4 bus 0 scbus4 target 15 lun 0
    Mar 17 20:40:38 truenas pmp0: <Port Multiplier 575f197b 000e> ATA device
    Mar 17 20:40:38 truenas pmp0: 300.000MB/s transfers (SATA 2.x, NONE, PIO 8192bytes)
    Mar 17 20:40:38 truenas pmp0: 15 fan-out ports

This was tested with a FANTEC QB-35US3-6G with 1x SDD and 2x HDD. All disks are available and individually addressable

You have selected the wrong setting raid ready is not correct.

AHCI is the correct setting in the bios.

The drivers are fine and are located legacy section it sounds like you are selecting the wrong ones.

This is an issue with Win 10 upwards you need to run it on a different OS or use Rufus to format the usb drive and make bootable with freedos and then copy all the files inside flat files folder (flash orig bios and then go back to pc and copy mod one over the orig one it will overwrite it)

Couldn't see it mentioned, but can anyone confirm if S3 sleep mode is enabled in this BIOS? The one posted at the start says it does, but it is unclear if the newer one does.

What changed after flashing the BIOS? Have the opportunities increased or is this just an imaginary benefit? I'm just confused if I should follow your path. Thank you  Rolleyes

Hello together,

I met a problem, i am not sure that was caused by flashing bios or not.

The sticker says it should be 98-4B-E1-xx-xx-xx-xx but the BIOS reads it as F0-00-EE-00-EE-F3. ( Only the same as this guy - https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threa...t-15870244 )

There for even the NIC lights is on, so as for the router connected to the NIC. But no OS can use the NIC. (Thried OMV, Debian, Windows Server 2008)

Would it be possible to fully reset the bios? may be to the brand new time? or can i change the MAC Address.

BTW, the only one guy meet the same problem as i do, fixed eventually. Lucy him, Here is his solution. https://forums.overclockers.com.au/posts/15872843/

I tried, did not work for me.

Thanks in advance!
