How Much RAM Do You Have?
#11
I have one of the ill configured HP Elite e9150t systems that came with 4X2GB 1333mhz modules and 1X1GB 1333mhz modules, for 9GBs total.

The issue I have, which is not that big of a deal, is that the 1GB module timings are less than the 2GB module timings, so I get the slower timings of the 1GB module, since the BIOS runs the memory at the reduced timing for all the modules.

Also, HP dumbs down the BIOS so that it reads the 1333mhz speed at 1066mhz.

Why they choose to do this is a mystery to me, except they probably purchase car loads of memory modules and just install what they have in stock at the time.

Since the modules are different in size and timings, the system runs in single memory mode, as opposed to even double or preferably triple mode.

After all the fiasco of the e9150t freeze issues gets resolved, I will order two more 2GB modules and replace the 1GB module and have all the slots populated and then be able to run 12GBs in triple mode. I think?

i have 1gb, running a 2.9g celeron. unless youre a gamer or running huge graphics programs, or video editing, its a waste of money to have so many upgrades. It's typically a pissing contest. With a CLEAN SYSTEM, you couldnt need more.

Right Click My Computer And Click Properties. In Windows XP or earlier , the amount of RAM is shown at the bottom of the window. In Vista or Later , the RAM is shown about halfway down

On my personal desktop I have 8GB DDR3 1600 overclocked to 1789mhz and a Phenom II x4 965BE clocked at 3.98Ghz and dual XFX HD5770 cards. Wicked fun for games!

For now I got 4g but will get the other 4g when money permits. If your using windows 7 and want to play games I would recommend no less then 4g as I have done with 2g and it really takes a slow down hit.
