Intel D975XBX2 Bad Axe 2 - microcode patch
#21
The original version works (just flashed it again).

Just one odd thing about the ucode block in the 2838 version. From observations, full block without last byte would check 8 to 00. This version checks to DF ... (the original bios)

Try another syntax:
iflash /f /p BX2838P.BIO

tried it, no success (the modded bios)
That should be the correct syntax to make the /f work (cmos reset to defaults).

Please try to flash modded BIOS by Recovery BIOS Update.
I need a foto with the result.

I've tried that too. no photos because there's nothing to be photographed :

1. original bios :
- some 2 minutes blank - activity on the usb drive and kb/mouse - probably initializing the usb ports
- post - splash screen
-  screen showing the bios being flashed (same as if initiating flashing from windows package)

2. modded bios :
- same 2 minutes
- post - splash screen
- blank screen and quick reboot - nothing displayed.

Did you used my new version of mod BIOS with last checksum = 0x18 for Recovery BIOS Update?

Yep,
The second one you've sent.

I've also tried one other thing :

Since it boots the e5300 (somehow) - cpuid 1067Ah - and there's no ucode in the bios, I've tried the same for the E5335 and 06FBh ucode.
I've flashed the last version without the ucode : BX2747P - from here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa...7520J-86A-

That didn't worked.

One more thing about recovery mode - the filename doesn't matter as long as it's the only *.bio file in the root folder.

What is the version of Windows you use?

E5335 use microcode for CPUID=0x06FB and platform ID=0x6, so sixth bit in the platform mask must be equal one. So microcode with the platform mask=0x01 (or 0x10) isn't loaded in all version of BIOS.
This CPU need BSEL mod to boot up.

Could you help a bit with this, because I can't seem to find the pin diagram from intel (old stuff).?

E.g. Intel LGA775 Pad Modding
You need change BSEL2 to Low. You may shortcut BSEL2 to BSEL1.

Thanks for all the help DeathBringer :

The thing booted up like a charm with no microcode ... see :

And the cpu-z screens :

Let me know if the bios is moddable after all - or point me in some direction. Maybe CodeRush can chime in.
