-Bios Link : For the life of me, it seems that NEC has died and don't offer anymore downloads for legacy notebooks. i found a couple on some chinese forums

but i'm not sure if they're the right ones for my notebook. not to mention that it's a chinese site and i have troubles navigating + to download it requires logging in/registration.



i tried to save the current bios using afuwin


then i tried to mod using andyp's ami tool

is there a better way to dump the bios and mod it, or is it impossible to mod dumped bios?

Make a backup of your current BIOS with this:
Download Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit

Then try using Andyp's AMI SLIC Mod Tool 1.63 on that Backup.
You can also upload the new back up here so I can see if it matches the one you made with afuwin.
You may need to go into the Advanced settings and check the Ignore checksum and module 80h warning box.
